Well, actually they aren't all incompetent. Jack knows what to do in most situations. And when they work together they are pretty brilliant at solving things. On the flip side, half the time they are also the cause of the problems though. So really it's just them cleaning up their messes.

Anyone else notice how all of them are Bi/Pan? Even Owen. Jack, obviously, Gwen was being coerced but definitely enjoyed making out with that woman who was possessed, Tosh was into that one alien chick and was in love with Owen, who made out with lots of women and in the first episode had no problem with using that sex spray on some dude-making out with him afterwards. Ianto is into women but also sleeps with and is in love with Jack. Does Martha count as an honorary member? If she does then she is the only one to my knowledge that isn't Bi. Not a complaint, trust me, I love it.

It's getting increasingly more difficult to believe that this takes place in the same universe as Doctor Who

the handful of episodes where Ianto had lines and everyone was alive were a special kind of chaotic

“What if they all become PSycHoTiC?” I would also say this with excitement. Also who else loved Owen then hated him like hated him even more until he died the first time and then loved him again and then hated him but still felt sad when he died for real.

Sassy Ianto completely redeemed his character and made him one of my favorites! Dead Owen was really great too. I wish Martha had stayed on for a more traditional season 3 as originally planned. But Children of Earth was so good that it's hard to complain.

i genuinely come back here just to watch the opening of kiss kiss bang bang because it's unhinged. it's got everything. torchwood: not so secret organisation that everyone bloody knows about. gwen and owen being best friends, owen being a show-off, the gang all working together, jack's hEy KiDs DiD yOu MiSs mE?! pure chaos.
