I honestly loved that episode. Because he was right: he wasn't dealing with a villain who fucked with the laws of time, he was dealing with a villain who fucked with the laws of life and death and that's more than fucked up. It reminds me of a certain villain in a Batgirl comic.

I actually really like Clara with 12. I just hated her with 11 because he, for me, got over Amy and Rory way too quickly and too overly fixated on Clara. And ofc it doesn't help that series 8 is not exactly the best according to most people. I personally despised it so much that I actually quit watching for 2 years because of it.

Clara gets so much shit but honestly she was another best friend he had to watch leave him. Like, to him, she DIED. Rose is safe. Martha? Safe. Donna? Safe. Amy and Rory? Back in time but safe. Bill technically comes back to life. But Clara? She's gone.She is the only one thats actually dead. She was his best friend. She just knew him, even when he became so different after his regeneration. She KNOWS him. People shit on her but honestly she is one of the best companions.

Yeah but Rose is in a parallel world so he can't ever see her, Martha is sorta safe, Donna if he ever went back for her and reminded her that he was the doctor then she will die. Amy and Rory he cant see without snapping time in half and creating a paradox. Bill is dead realistically. and yes she was his best friend and I completely agree that she shit on way too much.

Clara technically became immortal but also in other terms dead and she had to wipe his memories of her or else he would have done literally anything to get her back. He would have torn universe a new one just to have her back. So in order to stop that she cleared his memories but before his next regeneration gave them back

Clara and 12 had a MUCH better relationship than she and 11 ever did

With 11, she was the strange impossible mystery girl to the Doctor. With 12, the Doctor was the person that Clara did not quite understand. Besides Peter’s excellent acting, it made for a better audience surrogate position which has always been the role of the companion.

The thing is due to the age difference their relationship had to change. Cause lets be real they kept hinting towards the two liking each other with 11 meanwhile with 12 the relationship switched up and I guess Clara took a more active role which caused her to try be more like the Doctor which caused her eventual death.

The «THIS is annoying» line is still one of my favorite.

Clara telling the Time Lords that they're a bit thick because "The Doctor is back.... On Gallifrey, what do you think he's doing? Stealing a TARDIS and running" is probably one of my favourite bits because of the delivery. You can absolutely hear the sneering contempt of 'how did you not see this coming "

I honestly wouldn't mind if the actress who plays Clara gets to play the doctor because she's actually a pretty decent doctor as shown in that one episode

@@leilanyx Yes I have. In fact, I've known Jodie's work way before Broadchurch. She does alright in certain roles but I feel she's a little out of her depth with the complexity of playing the Doctor, hence why she doesn't really stand out truly amongst the main cast. Now compare her with Suranne Jones playing Anne Lister in Gentle Jack for instance, she totally stands out amongst the other actors. Suranne would have made a fantastic female Doctor. And as for blaming it solely on the writer, Jodie has to take some responsibility too. If she was such a good actress then she would have made it work. People criticized Series 8 because Peter wasn't given much screen time either...but when he was on screen he knocked it out the park with his performance, with or without a good script. That's the big difference.

It's kind of the 12th doctor in general. He is often expressing the opposite of what he is actually feeling (outside of serious scenes). Like a boy throwing rocks at a crush sort of thing.

I will love this duo endlessly for the rest of time. Every doctor has an iconic companion pair (nine had Rose, ten had Donna, eleven had Amy) and twelve with Clara and Me was so perfect. Hilarious and cheeky and the way that Clara just slowly morphed into the doctor was so interesting.

12 really made clara a lot more dynamic as a companion. She went from a simple girl in love with 11 to a sassy and chaotic partner in crime for 12.

The 12th and Clara were one of my favorite pair-ups tied with 10th and Donna. I think because in both scenarios the pair seemed to have a better power balance in the relationship. The Doctor can be very much larger than life and it takes a strong personality to be on equal footing with them. I felt like those two pairings had the best of that delicate balance

The first duo I watched from beginning to end, pretty much everything about their run was unexpected and bittersweet. The big thing I loved about them was their constant back forth. It was like watching a ping pong match and most episodes hit their stride when they were together on screen. Can't say I've seen that type of dynamic since... ever in my watching of the modern series.

Despite so many hating on Capaldi being the Doctor he proved time and again why he was one of the best. Clara and he were magnificent together and so funny at times. Humor and heartbreak together was deftly played by both.

Jenna Coleman asking "how do I look" is like a Proton asking what charge it carries.

I thought I’d hate Clara. I was dreading the episode when Clara came because I thought she was gonna drag the show and be another pointless will they wont they love interest to the Doctor, but then she actually appeared, and she was wonderful! She’s the Doctor’s best friend, and she’s someone he wants to protect. She’s feisty and caring and a perfect balance to 12’s grumpy bitterness. They’re dynamic reminds me of 9 and Rose, which were my favorite duo for the longest time. I haven’t seen her death yet, but god- I know it’ll be devastating. Clara doesn’t deserve the hate she gets. She’s absolutely wonderful

Feels like Clara was the only companion to care about blending in to the time.

Those two had BY FAR the best banter. He is such a sassy Doctor but quite possibly cared more than any before him. Especially when he pretends not to.

Clara is my absolute favorite companion, followed closely by Emma and Rory. I've always thought a spin off with Clara and Me and their time traveling diner would have made a GREAT show. Sadly nothing ever came of it. I also thought a spin off with the Dr's daughter, Jenny, would have been awesome as well. So many missed opportunities.

That could be a problem. Jenny was played by Georgia Davison, real-life daughter of the 5th Doctor, Peter Davison (She used Moffett as a stage name). Later, Georgia became Georgia Tennant, wife of the 10th Doctor, and are still together.

It needs a one-off Christmas special with 13, Clara and Ashildr to work together in restoring April's (Class) heart to her body. An all female episode might be rather good. Just keep Chibnall away because there are NO P'tings required!

@@rjmcallister1888 Moffet is the family name. Peter had to /chose to change it to Davison when he started acting because there was another actor called Peter Moffet.

I cant stand Clara she try to take the tardis away from the doctor

“I don’t think I’m a hugging person...” “I don’t think you get a vote” “no no no, not the hugging, I’m against the hugging” plus his absolute stupidity with makeup and heels is hilarious. And then “you look nice? Have you had a wash?” “Why are you being nice” “cause it works on you” not to mention the snapping and tardis listening to her... Aaaand the tiny tardis was hilarious Plus the doctor suddenly getting worried about the child in the woods “I’m not a hugger” and then hugging her 😂 Basically I love all of this

The TARDIS responding the Clara's snap is the greatest relationship dynamic

When I find myself in times of trouble The twelfth doctor comes to me Speaking words of wisdom, “Don’t be lasagna”

I hate my younger self for not seeing how great the two were together. It’s a good example for “you don’t know what you had until it’s gone.”

Capaldi and Coleman have the best doctor-companion chemistry of the revival, rivaled only by Ten and Donna you can’t change my mind

I'm happy to notice that the people who loved Twelfth and Clara also tend to qlso love Tenth and Donna. That's my kind of people right there.

"I'm not sure I'm a hugging person now." I think that's because the last time 11 tried it, he got slapped.

Thank you for keeping these two in the spotlight. They're probably the best Doctor and companion pairing in the history of the show (and I've been watching it since 1963).

@@IBagel2 fun wasnt it? And we have the first in universe hint of the mysterious season6b where Jamie and the doctor were sent on jobs for the time lords before 2nds regeneration into 3rd. The fact that 2nd is older and the duel control lever on the control panel, both 3rd and 4th complained about the counsel interfering

11 and Clara fancied each other, but 12 and Clara truly loved each other. But whether its romantic or platonic I'd say is up to interpretation, I'd personally say platonic

I've always imagined the new regeneration cycle really messed with the doctors thoughts and how he works as a whole, explaining how rough 12 is on human things. Makes it so much funnier.

I think it's a coping mechanism to the complicated events he's been through with his previous human companions and humans in general.

Every Doctor has a companion who makes them melt, not necessarily romantically. Clara is definitely it for 12. Total softy for her.

There weren't any moments with Matt Smith's doctor and Clara 😭 still loved it though. "Humans aren't otters!" "Well it will be even easier then."

You can tell at 4:00 that 12 really was gonna say something about meeting the author but switched to the joke as soon as Clara gave him the opportunity. Love Peter Capaldi and love Jenna! Great actors.

They are so iconic!! Fav doctor and fav companion!! They were in love with each other and no one can convince me otherwise! Love this!

Jenna is perfection. She's brilliant! Her and Capaldi are amazing together!

I thought Clara was okay at first. I now realize it's because she didn't play off of 11 very well because she's amazing with 12.
