Just in case you haven't noticed. Klarion DID in fact honor his debt. In a sneaky indirect way. By "accidentally" mentioning the bus.

Take a look at Teekl’s eyes when Klarion asks if he has to honor the debt. That’s not Teekl talking, it’s the other Lords of Chaos

I think the purpose of her arc, aka her one big "phantom" was her being the reason her dad was Fate and she regretted that since. So her ark was to showcase her solution outside of it, but I liked how it showed her dark side since other than Rocket, she seemed to be the one member of the team who did nothing wrong or ambiguous so I liked her character development in that regard.

It's a nice touch that Klarion DOES in fact give them what they asked for...just not directly. the whole "my reward is letting you go" is accurate. He's not going to mess with them any more...THIS time. and he nudged them towards the correct course of action to be able to rescue thier friend.

That's the thing with the fae; you DON'T trust them, no matter what! The way Klarion pays his 'debts', is by not destroying things with the snap of his fingers. You also have to word VERY CAREFULLY what you want when you, heaven forbid, make deals with them or make a promise to them - they'll EXPECT you to hold your vows, and will only make ones that adhere to what THEY want! Dunno what the hell Zatanna was thinking when she summoned Klarion.

@@kaytlinjustis5643 Klarion isn't a Fae I don't know which is the official version but in one he is a Lord of Chaos born over 16 billion years ago and another puts him as a member of the former Roanoke colonists who live in Limbo Town and the people there are known as Witch people with children being known as Witch-Boy or Witch-Girl does anyone know which is the right history as I've never read the comics so I only know what I read about online from second hand sources which aren't always accurate.

@@howdoyoudo5949 I know he is a Lord of Chaos yes, but I'm talking about his backstory and which is the official version, because with comics they have the ability to retcon entire worlds and make changes to history and the lore so as I said in my previous post we have the "Klarion" who was born as a Lord of Chaos from the dawn of time and the Klarion was born and resided in Limbo Town and was known as a Witch Boy his sister was a Witch Girl. It's hard to keep track of all the changes so do you happen to know which is his official backstory was as I know he's been reimagined at leas three times from the following comics and eras: Sins of Youth (Young Justice) Seven Soldiers (2005) New 52 Teen Titans

@@quincyconnors9391 it's not so entirely fanservice as more of an example of the problems with earlier seasons. The whole tell not show issue in between seasons. Like a tongue in cheek Easter egg to the comic books...but it's not explained at all to the viewers.

The fact that Nightwing used the Tower’s space to avoid Klarion’s attacks proves why he’s such a boss. Quick thinker, improviser, aware of his weaknesses and using his strengths to make up for them. My favorite YJ character by far. He was done so dirty in s4, but at least he got some cool fight scenes.

that's pretty in character for a chaos entity, feeling obligated to repay debts suits more order entities. Though he might have mentioned the bus purposefully, a way to repay his debt without repaying it.

@@DamontheDemon7 He's a creature of chaos, in DC universe, it rhyme pretty well with evil. Thus, as a evil creature, he won't do a honorable action such as repaying a debt voluntarily. But he can do it "accidentally" like casually mentioning the bus he used to travel through time and dimensions.

It looked more like Klarion had to pick a fight. Make a scene, and then give them a hint. If the lords can see through the cat, I’m sure they would mess with him, if he actually did “help” them.

Anyone else notice how Zatanna’s backwards spelling is her actually saying the words backwards, while Klarion is speaking his spells normally, and the editors reversed his lines? They do that a lot with Zatanna in other media. I really like how YJ Zatanna’s voice actress puts in the extra effort to truly say the spells backwards.

If you do the same for Zatanna in the Justice League Dark movie or any other show that has Zatanna backwards cast (or Klarion here) you’ll actually here the real words. YJ Zatanna is properly saying the spells backwards :D

Clarion wanted to help but could not. He could look weak before the chaos lords just now. He could let anyone think he paid debts out of fear. He gives her a.hint on his way out. And he takes each of them on in their own combat style and defeats them showing them to show far they really are. She should have immediately.said a sweet hi klarion, I need someone clever and cunning a help to find my lost friend, like I helped you look for tecle Stroke his pride, acknowledge him as more than just a powerhouse. Get he would have just delivered the bus, and said merry wedding day. She knows I meant birthday.

Something I noticed, Zatana speaks backwards while Klarions dialogue IS backwards. His audio is reversed.

Summoning Klarion with only one magic user is just about the worst thing you can do, really.

For the longest time I had no idea the spells were the words spoken backwards.

It was so funny how zatanna waited to do that spell till everyone got their asses beat

1:50 okay, but can we talk about Dick’s ability to fight on a three dimensional plane though?

This seems unfair. Klarion didn't honor the debt. It would have more sense if Klarion said, "Fine. I'll honor the debt. But I decide how to get Superboy out of the Zone!". Then Klarion takes Superboy out of the Zone, but teleports him to an unknown far away planet on the edge of the galaxy. Or teleports Superboy back in time to the medieval ages. THAT would have made more sense. He technically fulfills the debt, but is so chaotic about it that it only makes more trouble.

I’m no DC hero, but even I wouldn’t expect a Lord of Chaos - *especially* Klarion - to honor a debt. What was Zatanna thinking!? We don’t know if Klarion actually relented and honored his debt by mentioning the bus or if he backhandedly dropped the hint just for the enjoyment of perplexing the YJs and stroking his ego.

For someone who can spell backwards so effortlessly, it’s funny how he gets normal words wrong

I disagree with Klarion "Helping" outside of letting them live. The way he words it is why. "Bus bus YOU knew I meant bus." Said right after the cat speaks. If Klarion said "Bus bus THEY knew I meant bus" I'd buy it because then it's still indirect but shows that he is speaking aloud to whomever happens to hear him recollect, rather than simply being stressed over the environment and speaking to his new kitty. Also Zatanna first found out about the zone and Conner from touching the bus that Klarion was in control of! I really think it was just as simple as lowest risk, call in a favor that's owed which would be no to low risk for Klarion but high risk to the team. After all the demand was "BRING Conner to us safely" not "Escort or take us to Conner" the debt was calling for Klarion to do the task alone. And as later episodes show they were right about the high risk and were nearly all captured.

Zatanna should have known. Can't out-weasel a weasel.

They do something cool to show Nightwing's skill here. Klarion says "anything you can do, we can do better." He beats kaldur and artemis in physical combat immediately, breaks rocket's bubble and puts her in one, and out-backward-speaks Zatanna handily. But he doesn't beat Dick with pure physical skills. He has to teleport and throw fire as well as using physical weapons. And he realises pretty immediately that's necessary. He was better than everyone at their own style of combat, except for Nightwing. Dick is better at physical conbat than a lord of chaos.

And man did he clobber them

2:32 And you didn’t do that at the beginning, because...? Seriously, Zatanna should’ve expected Klarion to pull something like that. Not only is he a Lord of Chaos, he’s a Lord of Chaos that doesn’t like any of the people summoning him. What did she think was going to happen?

Bruh.. she could have done the spell from the beginning and avoid conflict...

In case you haven’t read “Injustice” comic. There established that the Chaos/Order power isn’t supreme in the universe. Power of the Will or Fear is far more powerful. For example this exact version of Klarion was killed by Sinestro, who just oneshot him with his strike.

Am I the only one that wants to c a fight with Klarion involving Hawkman/Hawkgirl just to see if their mases with disort his magic?

I’ve always wanted to see more of the Hawks/Nth metal in this show. Hawkgirl absolutely clapping Dr Fate in Justice League was such a cool moment

I don't know much DC lore, but why didn't Zatanna use her "honor the deal" or whatever spell in the first place? Is there a reason for it other than to allow a cool fight scene? I mean, in S1 and S2 most scenes that didn't make sense at first are revealed to be sensical some time later or within proximity.

She led with trying to talk him into helping, She did it in Fates tower to discourage him from attacking. He decided to attack anyway. At this point she was forced to use the contract spell as her trump card which she knew ahead of time would not necessarily work. Its not like her plan backfired horribly, Chechokv's demonic school bus has arrived.

She can only force him to agree to the debt but as you daw he can control how it's setteled as long as the other party get something out of it which in this case was survival
