Child and Klarion are interesting because they were both trying to serve Chaos in different ways. To put it in terms of a video game; Klarion is trying to get the high score, he is prolonging his stay on the mortal plane so he can cause as much chaos as he can over an extended period of time. Child, on the other hand, is a speedrunner, she doesn't care about a high score, she wants to get to the end when Chaos has destroyed the world as quickly as possible.

the red lights are the Lords of Chaos and the yellow lights are the Lords of Order the Lords of Order have only one confirmed champion, Nabu, who in life was one of Vandal Savage's sons, but after he died, his soul was recruited by the Lords of Order to act as the medium by which the Lords of Order can interact with the mortal plane, Nabu's soul is then sealed into the Helmet of Fate and who ever puts it on becomes Doctor Fate and fights on behalf of the Lords of Order the Lords of Chaos have a more active role and will send representatives like Klarion and Child to cause chaos in the mortal realm, the representative creates and bonds with a familiar that acts as their anchor to the mortal plane, for Klarion, he uses Teekl, while Child uses Flaw, if the familiar is destroyed, the representative will be banished back to the metaphysical realm and be unable to interact with the mortal realm till they get a new familiar to act as their anchor

well, Child did have the favor of all the Lords of Chaos, but after she lost to the Sentinels of Magic, Doctor Fate, and Klarion, she lost the favor of the Lords of Chaos and got banished from the mortal plane the only way she can return is by making another familiar, maybe this time she'll learn her lesson and make a familiar that has no flaws (no matter how well hidden that flaw was)
