Hey Scott! You can actually use the "shape tool" and make the shapes transparent. In the upper part of the Window there's the toolbar with "undo" and the "zoom" function. There you can change the colour of the border of your shape as well as the filling colour. There you can set it to "transparent" :)

Hey Scott, great little tutorial, love the channel. I've used Jamboard for education now (thank you pandemic) and you CAN get transparent fill in shapes. Just go to the top bar (under the title) while you have the shape tool selected in the left side bar, and then go up to the paint can icon and click it, you'll see a range of choices for color fill, one of them is "transparent". I use the shape tool to annotate photos for my students, but I'm going to give this OBS tie-in a try. Should be fun. Keep up the great work, your energy is contagious!

LOVED THE TROUBLESHOOTING as part of the tutorial. This is so overlooked by people doing tutorials, and is a source of authenticity that is helpful when actually trying to get something accomplished. I wanted also to mention that sharing Jamboard (blue Share button) and making the link public for anyone to view can address the "having to login to Google" problem in the Browser Source. You can also run the Jamboard from a second browser(!) and have the Browser source just view what gets put up on the screen. MUCH EASIER to manage so that you don't have to use the interaction window. Finally, if you size the browser source up a bit more (I don't have the exact numbers, but you'd make it wider and taller) you can actually have the green screen be at 100% while the left side tool bar can be off of the jamboard frame, then you're left with a glorious full frame Jamboard to work with. Again, excellent tutorial, you're doing great. Cheers!

You can chroma key out other color backgrounds as well. I’ve been experimenting with black background powerpoints with good results. A easy way to make the green, or any other color, background you use is to create a blank PowerPoint slide with the desired background color and export it as a jpg or png with 1920x1080 resolution.

@5:45 actually you can use Window Capture and then just ALT-drag the border in OBS to crop out any unwanted content of the window and then drag the size to whatever suits you. Maybe I misunderstand what you're aiming for but it seems to do the trick. When you drag the border handles of an object on OBS you change size but if you ALT-drag (in OBS for Windows 10 anyway) you crop the object (image, video, window etc)

Why don’t you open jamboard on an iPad and use NDI scanner? You can then just draw on there. And import the NDI stream…

I'm not sure I want to circumvent the security error from Google. It is there to prevent hacking via unsafe browsers and if you do use it it may open a door to your computer that you don't want to leave open.

If you have a second monitor. Then your best bet is Window Capture instead of the browser source. This source fixes the issue you revealed. I was leaning towards browser source with the assumption that most don't have a second monitor.

@@ScottFichter OK, I only have one monitor and for me, it works fine with Window Capture since it is an ordinary object that can be moved, resized and cropped at your will. I just tried it without streaming (just Zoom meetings in my case) and maybe some issue will pop up when live? EDIT: nope, live works just fine too. I used Window Capture for a Chrome window and can change position, size, cropping, and also move it to front, back, and between. I'm no KZreadr, I just produce some video/audio stuff for friends and online courses, so I may just misunderstand the goal tho 😁

@@ScottFichter What do you mean by "This source fixes the issue..."? If you mean the superuser parameter it sounds to me like it gives OBS's browser "admin rights" which is a big security issue? Hopefully, someone that actually knows about security (rather than me who just do educated guesses😁) can chip in.

I wish there was a way to slow down the laser automatic disappear rate. I've seen other videos where they have one that takes about twice the amount of time to disappear and it is much more effective.

Hi. I was hoping that you could help me. I cannot solve my issue with my Display Capture and Animated Lower Thirds. When the Display capture is functioning, the lower thirds do not, and vice versa. My goal is to have lower thirds and display capture run at the same time but I can't achieve it since the lower thirds functions under high performance while the display capture functions under power saving settings. Hoping you could help me with this. Thank you

Think of the possibilities!! If you have a tablet, you can have the jamboard open on that. Then use the Share link to open it on OBS (share, anyone with the link can view. No need to sign in). Then you can interact with your screen using your finger or tablet pen!!! Love this idea. Thank you for getting me there!
