Its considerably harder to learn a song, riff, solo etc without liking the song and knowing every note by heart. The fact that she can learn a song she doesnt like or know as a complete beginner is really cool

Nope, that's a classical-styled right hand picking. It's way harder, trust me. I studied classical for like 7 years and I couldn't play and arpeggiated chord for the entire first 6 months.

this reminded me of the hard days at the beginning playing the guitar, the struggle was real, but I'm so glad I pushed through to where I am now and looking forward to push even harder. I hope your wife gets to appreciate that feeling one day too

It's great for starters. Actually my first exposure to metal was metallica and the first album that I listened to was black album (one of the best). You can listen to black sabbath and deep purple after that. Also don't forget led zeppelin. These three are the most legendary bands. But THE most legendary one is led zeppelin. They're called the unholy trinity (I don't get what's unholy about them LOL)

Dude. When I gave my wife her first lesson, she was doing diminished sweep arpeggios. Just kidding. The arpeggios were actually based on the Mixolydian b6 scale. Just kidding again. She *did* learn the notes of the open strings, so there's that. Regardless, you and your wife are cool. These kinds of videos are fun.

that intro riff is what kick started my guitar journey, WAYYYY back then, My older brother taught me this riff, and it sounded so great to me That was also my first introduction to metallica
