@@bnursey8820 I had a guy like the tambourine wife. I wouldn't have cared if he wanted to play alone, but whenever he picked up his guitar he wanted me to play also (or vice versa). I didn't mind, we wrote a few nice songs. He wanted his friends to like me,but seemed to resent it when they actually did. It was weird. But that's passive-aggressive behavior.

Plot twist: Tyler doesn’t know how to play guitar, and every single vid has his wife playing over his pretend playing😂😂

That's why Tyler can't play a lot of the most iconic songs we commenters love that he's oblivious to. They are far beyond his skill level, and his wife has all of the taste and mojo. 😅😂

That’s why I love going to Sweetwater. My wife can get a massage, a nice lunch, and play video games while I obsess over compressor pedals.

Sounds familiar. 4 hours later: Wife walks in with six shopping bags containing three new dresses, a hat, pantyhose two sweaters, a couple of books, a pair of earrings, a capo, a guitar strap (bought 3&1/2 hours earlier), strings for her guitar, a pair of sweatpants,a pair of boots, a new cookie sheet, and a year's supply of moisturizer. I work at a guitar store and one time this dude was pedal shopping, his wife was getting annoyed with how long he was demoing it and they were having some disagreements on how much they could spend. She ended up going out to the car and her husband bought everything he wanted. At the end of my shift the wife came back and returned everything lmao

That's absolutely untrue. It's just a stupid myth I can't take reading/hearing it anymore. When you have a partner you have additional income. Ideally your income is hers and vice versa. You have a shared account. You buy things as a couple. So when I buy a guitar my wife's money helps me. When she wants to buy shit my money helps her. When you're single you only have one income.

The two most heard phrases from wives/girlfriends at music stores... “are you about ready to go?” and “it costs how much!?”

I usually have a deal, they don't criticize my hobbies, and in return I won't ask how much the cloths, shoes/boots, and purses cost :-) It's a 2 way street if it isn't then time to trade up.

From all the time I’ve spent hanging around music stores I can honestly say I’ve heard both phases said many times. More than a few times it’s been said to me 😝 Of course I’ve stopped at the store to “just grab a couple of sets of strings” and ended up playing 12 guitars and being in there for 5 hours. 😂

This is the closest thing I've had to an 'out of body' experience. The "addict" conversation has been happening in my house for the last several years. So much so, that I just got a PRS McCarty 594 in that same River Blue color, 5 days ago. I'm very lucky though, my wife never asks for anything in return, except to start selling off gear that I no longer use. She laughed her @$$ off when she watched this.

My wife is definitely a combo of "phone addict" and "bored." So I usually try to go solo, or with my 5 year old. That kiddo also wants to try out everything in the store. We spent 2 hours at GC the other week and had a blast.

@@chrisking6695 I teach him to be respectful. We sanitize hands before and after every play and bring our own string wipes.

I love how Tyler always plays so noticeably badly in these videos to give the authentic vibe of actually being in a guitar store. "Stop this Train" was a particular masterpiece...

The tears at the end were really him not wanting to look and see if he damaged the head when he hit the wall 🤣

My local guitar store is the same, maybe 6 POS guitars and a random super rare Les Paul. I hate that i have to drive an hour to Nashville to go to any decent shop. Maybe I should open my own store. lol

Lesson learned for me here is: always find a spouse that is just as passionate about music as yourself. It seems to be a much more wholesome experience when shared.

Honestly the two best ones were, "The Supporter," and, "Shared Playing." :P It's a great feeling when your partner enjoys music that you compose. :) And, I must've hit a jackpot, because my gf is the one who actually helped me decide on a couple pedals. I was really impressed by that! I can't play nearly as well as him, but when I try to play poorly for comic effect I find it hard to pull off. (I can play poorly by accident, though)

Back in the 90's when shopping malls still had guitar stores, this was legit a thing. I can recall many high school "mall dates" where she would go shopping and meet friends at the department and make up stores, and I would go to KB Music and just play until she was ready to go eat. If only this was still a viable option these days.......

Last part broke me in tears 😭

I understand how some would think his house is a guitar store, Tyler just has a very diverse and rich collection of beautiful high end instruments. I am just getting started, two Fender strata, two custom Les Pauls, Taylor acoustic, Ibanez Jem, Fender Custom Jazz bass. Several Fender amps, drum set and piano. Not much but have to start somewhere. My significant other has a very large clothes closet and the house remodeled to her exact specifications so it was either a guitar collection or a racecar. Lol
