Teaching an Orphaned baby Seagull how to Fly & Swim

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

This baby was found in a car park being attacked by a mob of adult seagulls, its mother no where to be seen and so weak & dehydrated he almost died!
Now look at him! Fighting fit and almost ready to be released into the wild again!

We raised a baby common gull chick, back in 1986. We looked after it for 6 weeks until it eventually flew off an left us. It treated the whole garden as the nest territory and wouldn't allow any other gulls or large birds into it, attacking any who tried. It loved it when somebody was doing gardening, especially digging, as it meant free bugs & worms.

You need to fold the wing back up to it's non flight position and then gently wrap cause around bird so wing can heal. With any luck the bird might be ok

  • @mothballjim

If hand reared in the right way then animals can be realised into the wild with much more success. The key is to not getting to close to them and not to treat them like pets. You don’t want them tame towards humans
