+Crafty Crafter I'm watching these Braille videos and learning how to skate at 19. Definitely would have been easier to start young, but it's fun to try such a new thing and make progress with it because I just don't have a lot of experiences like that at this age. You do you, boo.

He needs a micro board, like a 6.75 x 27.5. His board goes up past his hips, so doing anything is way harder. That'd be like Aaron learning how to do all his tricks on a deck the size of a longboard. :D

That kid is going to be awesome and Aaron is going to be an amazing dad.
It was really helpful to watch you critique him with each successive mistake. Seeing him do it wrong and hearing your feedback is loads more helpful than seeing you do it right IMO. After all, those who are learning will make mistakes so hearing what's causing those issues helps correct them. Great video and sick little skater!

The main reason I can't land a Ollie is cause I'm too worried about falling. Now seeing a 8 year old doing better than a 16 year old I've got to practice more😅😅
@XxT0asty0atsxX
7 жыл бұрын
I'm learning how to skate as well and so far i can ollie on flat, kickturn on ramps, fairly well actually, manual, and im working on making my moving ollies happen everytime. If you start on grass (not wet grass of course) and try it there, there's no worries. If you fall it's soft. Then after you land a few good ones there, you should move onto a crack in the ground or some bumpy blacktop Basically some concrete where you won't roll too much so you aren't scared of being on concrete while doing stuff. Then i'd go on some normal smooth concrete and go for it. THE WORST thing you can do if you work your way up like I did, is that you back out and land one foot on and one off. Once you figure out how to center yourself and stuff (which is the first thing to figure out if you plan on landing on a board ever), you shouldn't be scared to land. If you worked up to it, you should be landing on bolts or near them not the tail so you don't gotta worry about cracking your head on the ground since by then you should have all the steps in place to do a proper Ollie. Best advice i could give is do it a hundred times in the grass if you need to, rushing into it doesn't help, prepare yourself, just like for anything else. I'm by no means qualified to teach anyone but that's what i did, maybe some of that can help!

i found out pretty late in the game that it helps tremendously to keep your weight centered through the whole motion - bending down, pop, jump+slide - all staying centered balanced and not having more weight on the front or back foot. Not sure if that will help with your problem but give it a try anyway
