In today's video we are joined by little known crack climber Pete Whittaker to see whether we can turn "the most static climber in existence" into that comp kid who flashes your dyno project.
We're approaching 100K subs, and according to our analytics the majority of people who watch our videos aren't subscribed to the channel - we would appreciate it massively if you'd hit that sub button. Not only to help us reach a major milestone, but doing so really helps us to make more and higher quality videos. Thank you!

Only 7 minutes in I was thinking the exact same thing! Such a learning mindset and an objective understanding of their strengths and limitations. I think it’s part of what makes them so great and sets them apart from the rest of us.

Same, I find it a constant struggle. I've definitely hit the dreaded platuea and I have been struggling a lot with staying positive with the tiny bits of progress. I would rather not be a V3/4 climber forever, but it's tough to see getting out of it.

Videos with any combination of Louis, Pete, Toby and Magnus with a sprinkling of Bobat, Buildering London or Storror legends are like a birthday treat every time. Mustn't forget Hannah and Josh and all their great content too.
14:48 The long run just to fall is, I'm sorry, pretty funny 😅 I can just feel the pain
You NEED to get Toby on the channel soon! He's already been on half the climbing channels anyways and seems intent to collect them all, and you're definitely inching closer through all the connections.. First buildering, now Pete, and he was just on Hannah's channel too, so the net is getting tighter 😄
Its cool on that slomo at 20:30 you can see that louis with his deeper dynamic feel used his right leg to generate momentum for the swing into the next hold where as pete just muscled his way into the same momentum with his arms, nearly identical result but i bet that louis' method in this instance is a lot more efficient.
Oh my goodness Ink has grown in to such a big fluffy boy. I wish my cats would let me hold them like babies without pulling a grumpy face...
The spill at 14:52 made me burst out laughing. Looking like someone doing insurance fraud running out in front of a moving car hahaha
i see pete, i click, it's that simple
This is the duo I never knew I needed, but now I need more of it! You two bring out the best (and maybe also the worst) in each other and I'm here for it!
That heel hook into dynamic is like the beta lovechild of your two styles 😂
With every video where Pete tries to dyno i get more confident that he just doesn’t try them for whatever reason because he always totally smashes them!

He also makes videos with people who are great at dyno's like Louis and Toby and he seems to take feedback very well.
Love this duo! Pete is an absolute machine, and the level of technical knowledge between these two is incredible!

Next version needs Toby too...the three of you getting creative could be explosive!
Pete is just so fun. The two of you together is such a vibe
loving the contrast in styles but the willingness to learn and improve. no egos. Beautiful
two of the most likable climbers in one video and Ink on top - i‘m loving it! 😍
great video! you should do a collab with Toby... call it JumpyBoyz
So stoked for part 2!!!! ❤
Yes! Omg I've been wanting this collab for ages!
Absolutely fantastic video and collab with Pete. Subscribed!
This was amazing to watch, and has definitely given me some pointers for some pesky dynos that are waiting for me in the gym. Great effort from both of you, thank you for being awesome and I look forward to seeing Louis give Pete's climbing style a go on Wide Boyz' channel soon :D
Seeing these two guys just being so psyched is incredibly fun to watch
I love those crossovers in the climbing corner of youtube!
Great video, the two of you have great chemistry together and are highly entertaining.
so hype for part 2
Please do a collab video with both Pete and Toby and do more of this crazy stuff :P I bet it would be even more amazing!
Can't wait to see Louis on the cracks. Went to a (rope) climbing gym that had a route set with Pete's very own WideBoyz crack volumes for the first time a couple of days ago and after trying that, my respect for the man has increased even more haha
My two favourite KZread climbers in one video 🙏 they both have great energy
two of my climbing heroes in one video!! This makes me very happy
I am decent at static climbing but terrible at dyno/ parkour stuff. That was so helpfull, thank you.
So much fun and hype and willingness to try- again and again. The joy of climbing crystallized.
My two favourite climbers in one video!
Love the two of you together!
what a great video!!
Some much enthusiasm, from two of the best.
YES! I was searching for a collab between y'all recently, surprised it hadn't happened yet, glad that it now has.
Favourite Climber + Favourite Climbing coach = Dream content
i LOVE this combo these two bounce off each other in such a funny way
Great video ❤
let's go with the collab love you twos channels
Ink seems like such a chill cat
I wanna see the setters reaction to Pete's alternate beta :D
I haven't watched the video yet but I already want more collaborations with the wide boys!
The 2 of these guys together reminds me of the scene in step brothers where they became best friends and I love it. :) give me MORE!!!!😂
Louis at 14:51 is me the second I try and do anything dynamic
I thought I recognised that gym 😅 I’ve never managed the comp boulder sets, it was fun to watch two folks climbing them well! Time to go brush off my dyno starts and get practicing again…
Yay, Ink in sponsored segment, couldn't skip it
22:25 An astral projection of Pete's fingers appears on the hold a fraction of a second before his hand gets there! That's some next level visualisation 😮
Best collab !!
14:49 literally crying with that wall combo 🤣🤣🤣
Can't wait to see Louis in the cellar!
I don't think I ever laughed as hard and genuinely during a climbing video!
Every time I see a video with Pete and Louis I know it’s about to be one of the funniest things ever
Leave it to Pete to come up with some one arm spinning lache nonsense. Never fail to laugh when hes in a video.
Cracking content
awesome... Pete is ace 💪
Hi Louis and Pete, I love watching both of your channels, your fun, silly and try-hard attitude is the best. One remark: please do not joke about dying when falling off. Especially in the climbing community, and certainly for some people watching you, this is not at all a topic to joke about. Please be more sensitive about it next time. thank you 🙏
Transforming Project Pete to Pistol Pete! 💪
Right after Louis says he would be psyched at incremental improvements, he sends hard comp boulder.
I wonder if the seam up the face to the right goes, looks sick.
Hey Louis, 100% climbing question, what's the breed of lovely Inks (your cat)?

0:02 Crack connoisseur might not be the best wording..
At 13:10 you both use a hop step and then jump, which works but a lot of energy is lost by jumping into the mat. In my experience, the penultimate step is the superior jumping technique on a bouldering mat, because the angle of approach is lower and more horizontal. This results in less wasted energy and being able to jump higher. It also requires less effort and takes less run up steps. Volleyball and basketball players use this technique A LOT.
"There are no complex moves, only simple moves in sequence"
super awesome video, but i nearly didn't click because for some reason the thumbnail and title didnt catch me. you need to do more clickbaity stuff to get recognized!!!

@@CatalystClimbing I remember catalyst climbing as that expressive welcome from Louis and energetic type of video. In this video it's slow and not very energetic. Its just my opinion please don't take this as criticism. By the way, Louis, you're great! I improved my climbing so much with your tips and tricks, thanks!
