@@JSK_-vc7nmI was in line at a restaurant several years ago and there were some moms and their young kids waiting with me. I have 9 siblings so I am used to being around a lot of kids so I started having fun with their children just goofing around. The moms said to me I bet you’re a great Dad but I said no I don’t have any children and they asked me why not. I said I need to find a wife first. They said some day they were sure I would be a good Dad and that gave me some confidence and now I have a wife and a daughter who thinks she has the best Dad in the world ❤.

It's been decades, but I vividly remember my kindergarten teacher asking his girlfriend to marry him during a similar event, we had made a special gift box that he had slipped the ring into and presented to her. Super sweet and definitely a core memory! Edit: my bad on some of the wording. Clarifying it now, my class helped make a box for my kindergarten teacher to use to propose to his gf, once the box was finished he took it, put the ring inside and proposed to her some time after taking it. We didn't see the proposal, we just know that he did and that she said yes.

That was actually the perfect way to include her class on her special day! Having them at the ceremony plus a mini reception at the church, including the children, was brilliant! Having them at her actual reception would have really increased the cost, and honestly, little kids at a reception just get really bored quickly, and because of this, can end up running around, and creating havoc!

$100 a plate, I would say no way to any part of the reception! When my second grade teacher got married, we are informally invited to the church wedding (at same church where we went to school) but nobody went because our parents knew it was a gesture and a bunch of little kids who gave knows her all of 6 months would be annoying and potentially loud! A parent collected $5 from each family and we gave her a wedding gift as a class. I love my kiddos at school but not on the most important day of my life (plus reception: my dad saved that for me and and future husband!) maybe if I had a former student who was grown up and we had kept in touch, but that’s different. That’s kind of a proven relationship now young adult and a nice representative of all kids i have taught over the years.
