Jaime Escalante was the best teacher in the US. His students delivered by passing the AP Calculus exam in the largest number among US high schools. These students went on to become lawyers, doctors, scientists, engineers. How is that for a bunch of immigrants? Rest in peace, sir.

Loved this film, brilliant!

I watched this in my sophomore year of high school for Spanish class. It is a very slept on film. People would list either Dead Poets Society or School Ties as their favorites, but Stand and Deliver is a great film.

This is the worst high school ever!? Try going to Millbrook New York! The teacher bullies you alongside the bullies because they want control over the whole of the classroom… and they maintain that control by taking the side of the bullies… Teachers don’t protect you at Millbrook. They laugh at you and then join in as a bullys beat you to the ground.😅

My School is filled with immigrants too (i'm an immigrant) but there's also American people there and i'm always going to Get treated differently, almost EVERYONE in my country LOVES American people, but.. American people don't...😢

How do you know they wete immigrants? There are a lot of natives that were here before the takeover... er my bad I meant manifest destiny. Heck in Texas they forcefully deported families that were here beforehand..
