Thank you! I’m very excited to start! I said goodbye to a few kids at our last day of summer school yesterday, and there were some tears. But overall feeling really good. And hey!! That’s awesome! Hi Mikayla, I'm a high school student and I am starting a math tutoring business for elementary and middle school students. I just wanted to say that your content is amazing. You do a great job of being very entertaining (the oreo video haha) yet real and professional at the same time. I would've loved to have you as my 5th grade teacher. Give your students your new email to contact you. Have you begun to share/transfer/ save all your documents in your old Google drive? It's probably good to do it sooner than later. I will be teaching 5th grade this year, as well. It is the only grade I haven't taught, on purpose. In my old district 5th graders take the state tests in Reading, Math, and SCIENCE. Plus, all 5th graders went to overnight camp. No thank you.😉 Change can be hard. I was at my first school for 5 years, in the same grade, in the same room 4/5 of the years. I even got my masters there. Spread your wings, little bird. This is a chance to show all that you've learned. You'll do great!😉

Thanks!! If I could give them my new email, I would - I just don’t know how I would contact them. Would it be weird to send them an email from my old school email with the new email address? I am going to transfer my Google Drive once I get my new school account. My current school is letting me keep all my technology through the summer, so I can get that done. Thanks again! I’m really excited!

@@Picklementary I'm trying to be positive. I'll be teaching ELA and Social Studies which I like better than Math and Science. I've downloaded the standards and will be reading through the curriculums. I'm trying to think about where my 4th graders were when they left me, and what my 6th graders were like at the beginning of the school year. That's essentially 5th grade. I'm planning to read all the "5th grade books"(Ex. Esperanza Rising, Bud, Not Buddy, Dear Mr. Henshaw, etc). All of which I have started at least once in my life, but never finished. It'll be an adventure.???
