I love Jae's face every time Lingnation explains one of her crazy buttons or combo strings. The look of disbelief at what this character can get away with 😮

I found Mr Croft literally one month ago. Never really touched ling ever, just knew F 3,2,4 and F2,1😂. Literally just got her to tekken king within a month of learning her

She’s a blast Jae, not gonna lie to you. She takes a minute to get used to use, in the end once you’re comfortable with how she operates she just becomes a fluid smooth character imo.

The main issue I see that people have with Ling is that they don’t truly want to learn the match up. They want to just yolo hopkick, mash out random jabs and go ham. Against Ling you need to be WATCHING her and paying close attention. Saying this from being a Helena player from DOA for so many years. These types of characters truly test your neutral and adaptive skills as a player and many tend to fail and wanna scream “nerf”. 😒😬

Xiaoyu is not a all a nightmare to go against if you learn the matchup and if you're patient and watching what she is doing....

I agree, evasive characters are really fun to play against, but also very frustrating if you aren't blessed with anti-evasion buttons haha T7 Ling was fun to fight when I play Anna, Kuma, but frustrating when I'm Lili, Leo, Xiaoyu Even with matchup knowledge, hitbox gap is hitbox gap haha

As a Brad Wong player from DOA, and Lei player in previous Tekken's, there are only two types of players. People who don't know the match-up and get absolutely bodied, and those who do know the match-up and ruthlessly punish all of your unsafe gimmicks. Ling appears to be incredibly strong with a lot of safe options, but after a few nerfs, she's not too hard to deal with if you understand what she can and cannot do. Of course, that kinda all goes out the window if you're fighting someone like Mr.Croft who has essentially mastered the character, because at that point it's not really the character, so much as the player you're now having to counter.

@@DemothHymside I agree with you when you play a elite Xiaoyu player such as Sodam, Mr Croft and E Mann the game gets really crazy thats why they say Xiaoyu is a specialist character but what i really wanna question is.. what "Safe Options"(and you said she have a lot) that Xiaoyu have?.

That combo at the 8:50 is NASTY…the way he went into a hard AOP and landed the F3+4 is insanely difficult

after 3 steps... u dont have time to do that even if you r on the other side of the screen, unless the opponent lets u ofc.

Calling Xiaoyu one of the strongest characters on the game makes sense but calling her "easy to use" doesn't lol. Like Feng is strong, but it's not the same to play them.

did she really need a grab launcher now?

Throw launchers r not something chars need, they suck at every char... they need to nerf throws overall specially the homming situation.

She always had one and she could do it from neutral but there was multiple ways to break or escape it even after you got grabbed. Now it's locked behind stance with only 1 way to break.

So hold up... 14f single button launcher. 13f heat engage. 20f snake edge that's only -12 on block. Heat is just crazy. Backturn heatsmash contender for best heat dash in the game. Crazy punishment... Why is there even any argument that she's not top1??? Even Drag and Azu don't have these crazy tools

A lot of her good stuff is locked inside of stances that she can't block in. If you can spot the transition moves, you can interrupt a lot

I dont think she is even top 5, top ten, maybe and just maybe... anyway i dont like that top tier thing, u cant understand a game like this that way with so many options to every char, all of them r strong.

Not at all, she have nerfs coming now a little bit more than she deserved. Learn the match up. After this patch she will be a fair char, a strong one, like all the others but balanced, unlike some other chars that arent going to be fair even after the patch.
