    Love this, it shows just how many graded steps and how much repetition is needed, people don't realise the consistent work you need to put in.

    Ah, NICE! I've been wondering how to teach that. Only succeeded once with my Gran's Portuguese Podengo, a medium sized dog that would walk to heel, and then, upon me clapping and gesturing (in a very uneducated manner, lol), he'd jump up into my arms.

    Aeon refuses. Waylon is looking like the leaper. You’re brilliant. I can’t believe I let you talk me into getting a second dog…😉 Keep it up. I have 2 of them now. I need HELP!!! Waylon was really abused and he’s about 19 months. But he’s awesome. Just a bit( maybe a lot afraid) has to sleep with or he’s up etc. Real anxious.

    @@mydigitalexperience4266 I own both a GSD and a malinois and worked with many malinois. My black GSD is a thinker he wont jump off a cliff chasing a ball..because my malinois would forsure..as far as drive my malinois all day long. Her father is the number one dog in France in protection sports. And my malinois is dangerous at all times She doesn't mean it. But you have to be careful..I never in a million years have to worry about anything like that with my GSD..I'm going to train her in scent detection like my GSD she's just not as fast as a learner. Every thing with her is about biting.

    I will try it with my girl Tessa/BC(4month old), but when she is 5 or 6 months old so she doesn't have bone damage. At the moment we are doing the basics (no, dropp, sit, stay, heel, come... so on).Nothing that involves jumping. But thanks, very helpful your video🙂🐾

    Sounds perfect and doing the first exercise on the ground is a good start, eventually graduating to a stool very low to the ground. The steps after that become easier to do once she is a bit older. 🙂

    @@TheDogVlog That's true. In the beginning they should not be forced too much even if by nature they jump when playing with other puppies. For Tessa I don't think this exercise will be difficult. It surprises me daily how quickly she learns, mastering the basic rules by 4 months. It's true I started with her when she was 8 weeks old. And on top of that she loves hugs hihi, so in the future we'll implement your exercise 😌

    Can a senior BC learn this?

  • @TheDogVlog

    @TheDogVlog

    Жыл бұрын

    It depends how senior and on the specific dog. If they have arthritis or joint pain it would be too much. My Keegan did this for many years and though he still can do it at age 12 I am much more cautious about allowing him to jump. Always err on the side of caution and keep your dog safe. 🙂

    I use chunks of chicken, cheese, sardines, smelt, hamburger every once in awhile. You can also mix in kibble to make the kibble tastier - microwave whatever meat chunks you are using and add and mix the kibble to give it more flavour. The best foods are what your dog likes, preferably less processed stuff and in balance with nutritional needs. 🙂 Vet might be concerned about over feeding but I use a lot of my dogs daily food allowance in training.
