    I had my older model for seven years, no issues, new one is excellent. I tend to use the AUX with a decent Turntable, or Cassette Player. It does the job perfectly, transferring the data to Mac works perfectly. I never finalized the recording process, because once the Recording Disc is full, it simply rewinds in a minute, and automatically finalises the music data. Great sound once the vinyl is converted to Digital, you can tell the sound quality is superb, when you listen to your newly taped CD in your car, crank it up and enjoy. YES the TEAC Quality of this particular model may NOT be the most fantastic, BUT.. it does what it says on the box, and records great music from cassettes or vinyl, for you to enjoy on your computer in your car, wherever.Not many real competitors out their in this popular marketplace, which is surprising. Merry Christmas to you all, and stay safe.

    Does this automate the process of splitting tracks up "on board" or does it require a computer to edit the MP3 output? All of the other USB turntables I've seen merely output one continuous MP3 file and the only workaround is either spending quite a bit of time editing the output on a computer or manually attempting to time the breaks while in the midst of a recording. If this Teac can insert breaks between tracks how does that aspect of the operation work? Lastly, on other USB turntables the upper limit appears to be 128 kilobyte MP3 output but that's on the low end of the spectrum in terms of audio quality for an MP3. Does this allow users to generate a higher quality MP3 file? And, finally, am I correct that while there is a USB port it requires a direct connection to a computer to operate this way? (No flash drive or SD card direct-write option for MP3 creation?)

Fabioo '961 09/02/2019 h. 00,48

    Hello, I have a question about the CD player function in this equipment, there are albums that have songs that should be played together (i.e the first two songs on Beatles'sgt pepper) some players add a gap between them and that ruins the experience so does this player do the same or does it have red book standard? Meaning you will not hear any gap between them?

    I did according to the instructions, but the cue lever doesn't feel like it is connected to any moving parts, it just rests there useless. also the turntable doesn't start turning even when I slid the tone arm towards the vinyl. Also the turntable section doesn't look or feel solid, it slides around when I tried to move the tone arm

    This is exactly the point: there are products that DO fullfill your requirements and expectations. There are, however, products around thet bear the trusted brand name that DO NOT comply with the expectations one might expect given the reputation that brand built up over decades. Unfortunately, TEAC is among those trusted names. DUAL is another. So be carefull and do your homework before purchasing electronics that bear famous brand names from the past. But I'm happy your product does meet your expactations.

    @D Lynn I'm a hifi technician and I know these products. Because people come to me when the thing breaks and believe me, it will sooner or later. Later in this case will be sooner than you think. The mechanics of the turntable are so basic that it is a real joke really. Seldomly the speeds are right, no tone arm bearings so very heavy friction that will harm the record groove and the lack of anti skate makes things only worse. Even if people want to buy them for creating a digital format I strongly advice not to get one. The sound coming from the cartridge is so distorted and thin that the results are terrible. Heavy distortion, crude cantilever construction and excessive wow and flutter will make sure there will be no good results possible. I have opened up one of these and what's inside is pure junk. If it breaks, the defects will make sure getting it fixed will be impossible leaving the thing worthless. Something this equipment is fresh from the box actually. So avoid, you will be diappointed.

    @JacobJason I don't "hate" TEAC. I hate the ones who are responsible for misusing a trusted name from the past. This unit is not good quality, period. I maybe a fossil, that's the problem. But I grew up with quality stuff, yes, in "my" era even m.o.t.r. stuff had at least some degree of quality in it. This unit surely doesn't. Perhaps it could have if the plastic turntable was avoided in the design. And the awful tone arm and ceramic cartridge. In the past, TEAC stood for quality, it was right behind everything they made. This unit is a mass produced Chinese device bearing a famous name that was bought by smart business people. And no, I do not get paid, I'm just warning for these practices. This not only goes for TEAC, the name in just one of the numerous names from the past that now are on all kinds of sub-standard products from mainland China. The worst example of them all is Crosley. Totally unknown over hete in Europe, now those who are interested in records know all about it. True, the original Crosley portable players were crude but very sturdy constructed, quite unlike the products that appear on the market today. And your TEAC comes from the very same organisation that put the Crosley Cruiser together. If you want to be mislead, please, go ahead. This concludes my contributions in this thread.

    Do you remember a " Registratore a Bobine" of 1971: TEAC 2300, a very good product. You are right if say: - now Teac is not more as a time ago. Look a turntable:-They have integrated phono, exit usb for pc with software Audacity, a plastic tone- arm. It's terrible!! In UK i love a TT Rega of Roy Gandi. @wii1245 Yes, you are right. However, the cantilever, this is the tube the needle point is attached to, is so crude, yes, in this case often made of simple plastic(!) or rather thick aluminum, the needle down force has to be heavy. But the more weight, the more wear and tear. And, too much force will mean your records will be damaged, permanently. To make things worse, there is no bias, also known as anti skate. This means the needle wants to move to the centre of the record. This is pure physics. So the inner side of the groove will be even more damaged. Now, if you know what real forces we're talking about, given the small footprint of the needle in the groove, I hope you will understand what damage will be caused. Perhaps not audible on this piece of &@€€@&€&, but if a damaged record is to be played on decent equipment the damage can be heard no doubt. And you will regret your purchase of these crappy players. Avoid. You have been warned.

  • @leyland9999

    This thing is not the quality TEAC was famous for way back when! Don't be fooled by the name printed on the cardboard cabinet, it is a piece of junk coming from the same Chinese factory where Crosley, Steepletone, ION just to name a few are made these days. AVOID! The quality is absolutely terrible and won't last long, a year or two may. The turntable has very inconsistent speed due to a tiny dc motor and the turntable is made of cheap quality plastic. Have a look inside and you know you are going to waste your money. You have been warned!

    do you even own the product?. it does what is supposed to do. the thing is BETTER than my old GE turntable. in every way possible. it plays cds. tapes. and all lps. has fm. and transfer them all to CDs. it looks feels and sounds like it was made decades ago. it is heavy as fuck like how things used to be. for less than 300$ it is cheap. a shitty phone cost more than 300$. we are not in the 70s. i clearly remember my old cassette stereo players(which were Sony and Panasonic). they do break down. anybody says otherwise is a liar. "it won't last long"?. does 3 years sounds like a short time?. or should i wait a decade? for anyone else reading this. ignore this guy. he is probably being payed. misinformed. or just hates teac. this product will do everything you need. save a lot of space. it is rock solid and really looks good with the furniture. the makers did a great job. you won't be disappointed.

    I've just watched the video again. Since it was quite a while ago I saw what type of record player is incorporated in this set. I'm sorry, this thing WILL damage your vinyl, if not instantly, you will notice the damage if the record is to be played on decent equipment. I explain why: there is NO anti-skate, the needle force is around 6 grams, SIX! Sorry for shouting but this is way too much and the damage is done instantly because it lacks anti- skate. The dirve motor is not up to its task, it shows way too much wow and flutter, the platter is made of hard plastic and there is a lot of play at the base of the tone arm that, to make things even worse, much friction as there are no bearings at all at the base.There you have it. I'm sorry.

  • @newsview7844

    @newsview7844

    +leyland9999 For over $300 this should qualify as "decent equipment". I don't know if there's pitch control, tone control or anti-skate but for the price it should have those features. Then, again, I think the assumption is that people are using these things to get their music off the LPs to a more portable format, never to return to the LPs again (or rarely). As for the needle force being 6 grams or the lack of bearings at the base, how do you know this for a fact? Do you actually own this unit? Remember, too, most vintage turntables were designed before there was such a thing as Autocad or even PCs for use in the design process. Perhaps modern "precision" engineering/manufacturing methods allow for manufacturers to leave some of the compensatory features off because they don't anticipate as much sample-to-sample variation. It's probably a combination of both - not anticipating that a product like this will get heavy use, being that it is mostly marketed as a conversion tool, and the fact that computerized design wasn't a part of the manufacturing process years ago when turntables with anti-skate features and such were the norm.
