Thanks for the story. I was wondering what was in the pack. I have heard enough experiences of guys getting caught out in the bush and though I haven't, I have been in situations where I found myself totally not where I thought I was, so I tend to over pack just to be safe. Great vid and good chat at the end there! Yeap better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it! Have often been tempted to lighten my gear up, even for day hunts. In the end, no deer is worth an uncomfortable or fatal night out in the bush! I reakon those little emergency bags and a dry base layer is pretty cheap life insurance and doesnt cost much more than a few extra drops of sweat on the hill!

Bro awesome footage. I think what you'll find is it's the inexperienced that are asking those questions and they'll either listen to what you have to say or learn the hard way like most of us have. I will always hunt with at least a day bag containing everything you mentioned, something warm to change into, a good wet weather jacket, high energy snacks and brew kit to keep me warm just in case I get caught out and have an accident. For the extra bit of weight, it's totally worth it especially for anyone that may be waiting for you at home. Good korero bro.
