I wasn't aware people were still using those mountain radios! I remember using them in the 90s... Most of the fun was in setting the aerials up.

@@rudmerv Hey thanks for watching, The radios are a good piece of kit, but nowdays the inreach gps is good to use and alot smaller. we bring both.,,battery's are the only cost for the radio.

@@nzmeateater Hamilton, NZ. My hunting spots are up in the Kawekas, Ruahines, Kaimanawas n Pureora. Just love the Beech Forest of the Kainanawas, now that I am edging toward 80 I have to consider the terrain.

What an awesome vid. I hunted that area with my pig dogs 20+ yrs ago and the burn was a grunt then lol 😂 you do bloody well mate. Superb shots of deer up close, brilliant mate.

Thanks ,second trip with a newer gopro 9 ,much better camera than the older one, The drone is sill a learning curve learning some better camera settings.

Thanks for your feedback mate, really appreciate it👍👍, The radio is Condor, they are allso called Codan, They are getting hard to find, there are newer models, but not cheap, its alot cheaper and easier to get a gps that you can txt on, they go for about $500 to $1000 or so depending on which one you get, Thats what I use now most of the time, way smaller and lite to carry.

Thanks for your feedback mate, really appreciate it👍👍, The radio is Condor, they are allso called Codan, They are getting hard to find, there are newer models, but not cheap, its alot cheaper and easier to get a gps that you can txt on, they go for about $500 to $1000 or so depending on which one you get, Thats what I use now most of the time, way smaller and lite to carry.

They are good value, but like any solar panel they dont work as well on cloudy days,
