This Woman wants opposition to not speak out while she is talking ??. What a load of rubbish, If a baby is raised with the impression they are not good enough from birth.. who spoke those words to them?, it's mostly their parents who have said this to justify and perpetuate the victim mentality. I have heard and seen this myself. Look at the harm thats being done to children because their parents have not been taught good parenting skills, so, all this Woman's experience has not helped her own people.

Well well well. Which Maori culture is she referring to ? Her ancestors culture ? I would never recommend any child to be exposed to that barbaric culture. Or is she referring to today’s Maori culture of gangs, crime, violence, anti education, lawlessness and racist views ? Neither are appropriate. Besides that she herself is pigeonholing all Maori as being the same just because they’re Maori. How about respecting the individual for who he is and not what he is. Maori tend to advance and progress when they’re out of NZ, away from the constant dogma from Maori culture. They become their true selves and aren’t held back by Maori culture.

What this Maori MP seems to forget is that the majority of the Maori population in NZ is now of mixed blood, why do some have such a hatred for their white ancestors. Surely there must be a middle ground where both their ancestors cultures can coexist as many of us are here because of a loving union between two people of different races.

Such a double standard!! We are living in a country where our castrated government bows down to every whim so as to risk ‘not offending’ anyone. While it is important to acknowledge the ‘native’ culture of our land, it is equally important to recognise all cultures that make up the wonderful melting pot that is our society. Every citizen’s lineage can be traced back to a time when their ancestors were persecuted and killed and the only way forward is to draw a line in the sand and move forward as a united people. We live in an extremely racist country but people forget that racism works all ways

Who is representing Māori? Who is the group within Māori that is going to take these children in? Why is there even a need to take them in if Māori have the interests of Māori children at the forefront? If they did then there would be no need at all for such a bill. Surely if there is a wealth of Māori willing to take in and help raise in a safe Māori culturally focused environment then it would be a no brainer to send children there. Unfortunately I’m not sure that exists at present. So isn’t the onus now on Māori to instead of just criticising the government and shouting inflammatory divisive words/terms. To instead step up and start doing the right thing as individuals for your children. That is what would actually help Māori.
