love these videos they are a big help when deciding on gear and equipment.

Boy oh boy, yall complain about everything...these boots are dope and I will be purchasing these ASAP....Note, sit these in ur tub with the water level of "The sole holes" u complain about. It's easier cleaning than u think....oh and 4 those who are in muddy situations constantly, buy a diff boot🤷🏽‍♂️

That's a lace-stay. When you are riding you can tuck the knot on your laces under there to make sure they don't get caught on the bike / drive system.

dirt and mud will seep in through those holes tho

Won't seep into the boot, that's the benefit of the "surround" construction. The membrane goes all the way around your foot, including the bottom, and nothing comes in. I had the same concern with my TCX surround sole on my boots, but many rain rides, and even submerging the boots into water and waiting many minutes proves to me that this works to keep out water/mud. However, I can't say that it helps cool my feet any better... Might be a gimmick, but at least the waterproofing does work.

I'd have to imagine that if you packed in the dirt / mud into that sole, that a splash of water and some compressed air would clean it out in 5 minutes, tops.

@@Vjekoslav-vf3hr Yeah, ventilation to the Gore-Tex WP liner. Gore has one of the most breathable WP liners on the market but like all breathable WP liners it requires air to remove the water vapor passing through. So more air via the sole or the outer boot material getting to the liner = more breathability and performance for that WP liner. The technology has been around for years and at least 3 years in TCX line up alone.

FWIW: While I agreed with RyanF9 that the other brands have certainly started to outperform GTX, he did completely gloss over the fact that GTX is higher in price because it comes with a lifetime guarantee for the WP'ing. Any issues years down the road and they will replace the product without question. While I personally don't think that should constitute the usual price increase we see from Gore, its definitely a key factor for their entire brand that was overlooked compared to other brands and their short warranties.

You will get wet anyway in those low boots. Water will just come in trough the top.
