TBS Crossfire Micro V2 Low River Run Test 😎 - AR Pro FPV

🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 FULL SETUP AND LINKS IN DESCRIPTION BELOW ⬇️ ⬇️ ⬇️ (Click 'SHOW MORE'👈🏻 )
Time to see if TBS Crossfire Micro V2 has what it takes for me to fly nice and low along a river behind land and trees. Max power output on this unit is 1w and I have it set to Dynamic power mode so it will adjust to the power automatically to try and achieve a high Link Quality (LQ). I'm using stock antennas both ends, the receiver is a nano with an Immortal T. I also brought out the True RC Gatling antenna for my video on this run, as it produces the clearest results. Pretty gusty day, you'll see from the DVR recording, I even had my tripod blow over! Hope you guys find this interesting anyway :)
I got the info about the CF RF modes from ‪@JoshuaBardwell‬ in the following video, so check that out if you want to know more on this subject: • Crossfire RSSI not 99?...

Had a lockout on my R9M at close range yesterday on my quad. Not heavily invested in it, I decided to give it the push. Ordered a Crossfire Micro V2 TX Module and a Nano SE RX.....The new TBS App that runs under OTX finally pushed me into it. This and the RF in OSD etc...This is your fault....lol...

  • @AdamGdoesFPV

Lockout at close range is bad news, flying with a reliable control link makes the hobby so much more enjoyable. I think buying a CF is a good move and you’ll really like it. The app is nice, this user friendly setup and config is a huge advantage over Dragonlink. Anyway, if it’s my fault you bought one, it’s a good thing, so... you’re welcome 😄

@@AdamGdoesFPV I think it was a combination of the TX on Flex dropping its output and the VTX antenna being between me and the Rx antenna. It's a bit weird TBH, the RX just froze but I did have FS set to hold, which it did. The RSSI on the DVR was nailed at 99%...the quad was pretty low, so no real damage...I'm sure CRSF will be a more secure link...😳😀😀🇬🇧

Thanks, very interesting ... I would have guessed that 1.2 GHz video TX, being relatively close to the 900 MHz crossfire TRX's frequency would desensitize it, but it seems they have quality bandpass filters on the front end of the tiny trx that avoids this effect. Since we have mobile networks operating around 900 MHz in Europe, I guess they had to add very good front end filtering to maintain good receiver sensitivity without being overloaded by the very strong nearby signals. I am planning to build a long range wing this Q2 as well and am still unsure if I should go with a digital high res DJI FPV system or since I am a radio amateur, also operate a 23cm (1.2 GHz) analog transmitter that I can run with as much power as I like. If going analog I have to put a real ground station together, which has the beauty that I can build my own high gain antennas and get a very good range. The problem is that I am already spoiled with a digital 720p HD signal from my Parrot Disco wing and as I see here on KZread, watching analog can be painful at times. Though your analog system looks pretty good. I guess I have to make up my mind soon and order stuff from China, since it will take a month to get here and the fun flying climate is coming to Germany soon.

Whatever they've done it works. I'm running mine on the legal channel here which is 868. I also have a 720p HD FPV system on my mini Talon (Shark Byte) and to be honest although the picture is clearer, i prefer 1.3g analogue so much more. The freedom it gives you cannot be matched by any HD system that exists today unfortunately. In fact I'm going to sell my HD system and stick with analogue 1.3. Cheers

Hey Darren I know you no longer have your ar wing pro but looking at this video I'm just wondering how and why did you install the immortal t antenna out on looks like almost to the wing tip? I have new wing s coming for mine and will do the same as yours. Were did you mount the receiver? Did you use the extra long 120mm antenna? I've always mounted my rx antenna vertical in fuselage on one side and 5.8ghz fpv antenna on other side of fuselage. I'm thinking the way you do it might help with signal for both. Just to let you know after following your advice on autolaunch this wing launching pretty good, I used to launch in cruse mode and I never took a few steps in direction of flight, I now activate autolaunch in manual,a few steps forward and away it goes in straight line like magic. It's taken me 2 years, alot of glue, a shit load of spare parts but this technique is what resolved my issues. Thanks so much

Hey, I mount the rx on the wing for good separation of antennas. The ARPro is designed to make this really easy as it already has the compartment out on the wing with the wiring. I just put the Rx in the wing and used standard antenna. Hope this helps

I think you mean 1280MHz which is 1.28GHz.... round it up, 1.3GHz I don't see the problem here. Whilst the antenna might indeed be engineered to work best with 1.28GHz, it is in fact very suitable for use on channels that are closely either side of that specific channel. In the same way as you can really only buy antennas for the 5.8GHz "range" of frequencies, these manufacturers tend to make antennas for the 1.3GHz "range" of frequencies.
