My stepper motor is rated for 6V.. do you think I can still use the MKS-CD/TB6600 + MKS Gen L v1.0? The connector on the MKS Gen says 12V/24V but I assume that's for the Atmega2560.. how or where would the power for the motor come from?

You cannot use the 6 volt motor with MKS Gen L v1.0. (12/24v) The motor wires are rated at 6 volts, if there is more, this can cause damage to the motor

can it handle marlin's step pulse ??

In the firmware I did not change anything except - #define DEFAULT_AXIS_STEPS_PER_UNIT {80,80 ........ Its for my pulley (18 teeht)
