Tazumal "Mayan Ruins" El Salvador
►Read the blog: davidsbeenhere....
In this episode of El Salvador Unplugged, DBH heads into the heart of Chalchuapa to the ancient Mayan ruins of Tazumal. The most important and best-preserved ruins in the country, Tazumal is home to some of the biggest pyramids and famous Mesoamerican ball courts. Tour the extensive sight as David takes us through the courts, pyramids and temples, providing some insight into their history and purpose. Atop one of the main temples, David catches some amazing views while explaining how the high points were used for agricultural predictions and to help create the precise, detailed Mayan calendars.

About Me:
My name is David Hoffmann and for the last decade I have been traveling around the world in search of unique culture, food and history! Since starting Davidsbeenhere in 2008, I have traveled to 71 countries and over 1,000 destinations, which I welcome you to check out on my KZread Channel, blog and social medias.

Indigenous people of El Salvador are not wiped out. They may not be as numerous, but they are still around. They still practice many of their rituals and traditions, however their language is disappearing. Awesome videos!

It's been years since I was there. I'm not sure about now, but back then you could climb the temple all the way up to the top. The area is very unique. When I was there it was so quiet. It was very peaceful. Definitely one of my favorite places to visit in El Salvador other than the beaches with the nice pacific waters.

To my understanding according to what my High School teachers taught me Europeans did have water because it Snows in Europe but it was so cold that they did not shower everyday and only showered once or twice a week. To hide their stench from not showering the Europeans invented perfume. Remember it snows in Europe not in Central America.

This just in general for ppl interested in El Salvador (after I got personally insulted I will not continue to argue with this specific "expert" of El Salvador): El Salvador has way more things to see than only history, like beaches, nature, volcanos, friendly people, … (all activities are mostly possible for family with kids, too)
