My take is that in "clean comedy" you actually have to be funny. Too much of modern "comedy" is based on pretending that sexual promiscuity is still taboo so the mere idea of sleeping around is funny and the comic does nothing for the line or setup/payoff.

I have found that religious extremists don't take religious humor very well. I told a "born again" friend that originally there were 15 commandments, but Moses dropped and broke one of the tablets coming down the mountain. My friend was not amused. Another time I told him that the amount of Christmas lights a person displays is directly proportional to how much they have sinned during the year. Then as we drove around when I saw a house with a lot of lights I would point and say "sinner!" He actually wanted to fight me over that joke, to which I told him "that's not very Christian of you." He got so upset that I didn't see or hear from him for several years after that.

I wouldn't start a fight about it but if they really love Christmas decorations, i can see them getting upset about it. To me that's pretty funny but not for everyone. granted my family just started putting lights on the outside of our house like 3 years ago. Also some christians don't believe in celebrating holidays at all. I mean I believe we are all sinners saved by grace and that comedy is another gift from God. @@JackofAllMinistries just one more thing and it's nit picky a bit I know , but if you are going to use the term female you should also use male and vice versa if you are going to use the term men you should use women when comparing the two groups in the same thought or statement. I believe language is a powerful tool and should be used as responsibly as we are able to . I appreciate you taking your time to chat with me on this subject . Thank you .
I think doing a gig at an NA or AA meeting would be the ultimate level. Just think of all the brightness and laugher that could be injected into such an environment and potentially causing a surge of inspiration for those groups.
I love sarcasm and she has a gift. I think she's hilarious
That joke is funny, but it's honestly even more hilarious that it was the joke that was too much.
Taylor is becoming a firm favourite, good jokes and brilliant delivery
Taylor is one of my favorite current comedians. Keep up good work
Just bought tickets to see Taylor in the fall. Looking forward to it!
her laughter is adorable 💙she’s so talented
Her cruise schedule actually sound amazing to me. But I'm one of those weirdos who met Covid lockdown with the "healthy" spirit of "if it weren't for all these people dying I'd want this to go on forever!" And then I'd remember how bad traffic used to be and think that I was still *maybe* a bit too okay with it going on at least a little longer.
Wow, the illiteration was magical! Churches, clubs, corporate, colleges, cruise ships, all on Coco!!
Oh my God! Back when I listened to this episode, I had no idea who she was. Now i love her and I didn't know she'd been on until I saw this thumbnail and it's all coming back to me now. Definitely need to relisten to this episode again
I love Taylor Tomlinson! Super funny comedian. Found her on mistake. So happy I kept watching her comedy so I wish I could see her in person that would be awesome 😎
I laughed when Conan said you “got fired from the church comedy circuit” hahahaha.
She's done every kind of gig...and that's just within the letter 'C'!
The, like, elder brotherly dynamic between Conan and her, I’m here for it
Really cool watching her blow up. Super talented super funny
she's so funny.
Taylor’s perfect how she is. She took all the right lessons from her past.
She deserves.all the success that comes her way!
I Wonder if Conan introduced Taylor to the 'Smile High Club'. That is doing a 15 minute stand-up set in Conan's private jet. It can be feature on his new podcast: 'Conan Needs a Plane.'
I love her laugh, it's so cute!
I worked for a few years as a cruise ship musician and that "land gig" part brought me back LOLOLOL
Absolutely and You are the perfect person to help her along her way ❤you both I have stage 4 multiple sclerosis and you guys keep me crying from laughing 😂😂LMAO❤
I read it as fried in church and immediately thought “Taylor! Who breaded you?!”
Taylor Tomlinson is SO funny. I watch everything she posts on KZread. She kills, every time.
Cool to hear her backstories. Time on stage honing the craft. She's so skilled in the art of comedy that her jokes hit the mark everytime. Conan highly respects her as a young fellow comedian and wants her to succeed because she's so funny.
