    Psychedelics are just an exceptional mental health breakthrough. It's quite fascinating how effective they are against depression and anxiety. Saved my life.

    Can you help with the reliable source I would really appreciate it. Many people talk about mushrooms and psychedelics but nobody talks about where to get them. Very hard to get a reliable source here in Australia. Really need!

    I wish they were readily available in my place. Microdosing was my next plan of care for my husband. He is 59 & has so many mental health issues plus probable CTE & a TBI that left him in a coma 8 days. It's too late now I had to get a TPO as he's 6'6 300+ pound homicidal maniac. He's constantly talking about killing someone. He's violent. Anyone reading this Familiar w/ BPD know if it is common for an obsession with violence.

    While true, it’s not exactly what I would be telling a patient with anxiety. A good therapist leads a patient toward a realization instead of giving them something else to worry about. Then again, this is a comedy routine so it makes perfect sense here, lol.

    Comedy has always expressed the current things happening in the world in a unique way. It's interesting how mental health is becoming a topic, and maybe it's good...helping destigmatize it or help people realize they're not alone. I had anxiety for a long time, books like "30 Days to Reduce Anxiety" by Harper Daniels and "The Power of Now' by Tolle really helped a lot.

    Watching comedians who struggle with mental illness talk about mental illness is healing. Watching comedians who don't struggle with mental illness talk about mental illness is cringey at best. I felt for a long time like I couldn't seek help for my mental illnesses because I didn't have a "right" to feel so awful all the time and hate my life because nothing very traumatic has ever happened to me. "You're privileged to have a mental illness" is a damaging take to public mental health.

    I am not sure what you are talking about, but the one lady was saying if you are poor and depressed, you cannot afford therapy to find out, so people will just call you lazy or whatever, but when you have money, you can afford to be diagnosed with a mental illness. now you are not lazy, you are depressed and you have the reciepts, literally, to prove it.

    The USA's healthcare system is so wild. As a Brit, with universal healthcare I'd never considered mental health issues a wealth/class indicator, but actually getting diagnosis and treatment legit is over there. It's kinda a weird reversal because a few decades ago the adage was poor people are crazy; rich people are _eccentric_. But I guess these days it's poor people are either so impacted they're "crazy" and avoided; while rich(er) people are diagnosed with specific conditions.

  • @helenl3193

    @helenl3193

    7 ай бұрын

    To be clear, when I say poor people are crazy I mean those who cannot pass in school/work/society as 'normal' (which is a nonsensical concept for a person no healthier than 'perfect') and/or whose struggle to cope undiagnosed/unsupported leads them into maladaptive coping mechanisms, such as numbing the pain/taking the edge off through addictions, etc, which then makes them stereotypically crazy/disfunctional outliers in their communities. Just wanted to be clear I don't think it's ever been true that there are fewer people who suffer mental health issues in a particular financial/class demographic, (although I'm fairly sure the types of issues may vary due to environmental factors) but western capitalist societies have always had different rules about which of those groups get/deserve compassion and treatment/care for their ailments vs who gets left to fall through the cracks/dumped in a cruel institution, etc.

    As a poor American on disability, I have limited access to healthcare which, I suppose, is better than none. But when it comes to mental health services, seeing the wrong therapist can be pretty useless. And I'm dealing with more than just garden variety depression and anxiety (e.g. bipolar, borderline pd, CPTSD).

    The reason people are anxious and depressed is because up until now, they knew their life would be wasted to give people they had never met a better life. Tell a child, you will work for 60 years to give someone else a better life…You wouldn’t do it would you? So why are you doing it as an adult… This is not their playground, it’s mine 😎

    Michael Che-- sweet jaysus. Depression isn't being sad...it is living in absolute freaking darkness where you can't feel anything other than glimpses of despair. Not a white privilege thing--what an ignorant thing to say.

    For those who don't know, most funny ppl, actually suffer from some sorta mental illness. To cope they hide behind being funny. It's easier then facing it. To be able to be funny and talk about it, is healing

    I just came across this vid and it's great~~The truth is that most people have some sort of mental disorder weather they know it or not~~But if you went to a therapist or a mental health specialist they are trained to push meds and for insurance purposes they have to write some disorder so they can push meds that make people sicker~~From what I know that people have told me is research the med you are given~~Most people don't realize ya'll are guinea pigs when you are given meds and you feel worse~~Also they lie or strech the truth about your condition to keep you on crazy meds~~Fact~~So be careful and request to see your chart abd what they are writing about you~~
