The word everyone is looking for is: Panel Show. This is a Panel Show. The shows creators know they can call it a Talk Show just to watch American's brains melt as they try to comprehend what's happening 😂 ...and I'm here for it! UK Panel Shows are the BEST, and it's about time the US got on board!

PANEL SHOW....that's what this is. Okay, thank you. Like Would I Lie to You but Americanized. I was wondering how to describe it. It's sorta like Jimmy Carr's hosted Distraction in that it's a "contest" but it also blends in Tosh.0 components of funny Internet videos. I like it. And thank you for giving me the adjective. I didn't know Brits had a name for shows like this!

We have panel shows, they are just never as funny because we always make them so formulaic in the US. Like Ridiculousness or and the Marriage Ref. I think Chelsea Handler's show was a bit of both talk-show and panel and gave everyone involved more room to be actually funny.

It's the first time I've seen an American show find the spark of panel shows over here. I like that CBS has seen Dropout's Game Changer/Make Some Noise and said "Yeah we'll take some of that" and found their own blend. I'm keen to see them keep developing the show and help Tomlinson find a niche that really lets her and her guests show their best selves.

I honestly think she(or cbs) needs to cultivate a wide range of familiars and favorites. Like, if I see Richard Ayowade, Katherine Ryan, Sarah Milligan, or Aisling Bea ( zero ideo on sp.) I know I want to watch the whole thing. If she develops a semi familiar roster (not everytime but enough that I get to know the relationships) and brings in new people occasionally I think it capitalize on the successful set up those BBC4 shows have.

I never thought she was duped/tricked, but I think a lot of people, myself included, were surprised the first time we watched and realized this was a reboot of that "Points!" show that I'd forgotten was called [at] midnight. I'm happy with this format or I wouldn't be here watching this, but I did want to see another woman comedian break in to what is largely a "guys in ties except Seth" genre.

Okay... I think we all agree we want a "talkshow" and for this to be a bit on it. But... what if we met in the middle and did a Tosh.0 style on the show? I think Taylor would NAIL IT

I was excited for Taylor to get a late night show. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the format. I'll stick w it for now. I like Taylor and some of her guests have been stellar. (just my opinion, not that it matters).

I hope she knows those of us who thought she was getting a talk show meant it in a good way. Craig Ferguson managed to have a good run doing things his own way.

It is like a basic marketing issue a new Late Night Show advertised on CBS doesn't mean a show is airing late. Late Night is a subgenera of talk shows 😂

We need more shows like this on tv. It’s got British tv vibes. I could see Jimmy Carr hosting. Make it more British and let people cuss lol.

I don’t know why people are saying they “addressed” the deception that it was a talk show. All she said was “No, I was fully in on it!” But the guy was giving her the benefit of the doubt?! He was saying “I know Taylor wouldn’t lie to us like this so she must have been tricked”. But no, Taylor was happy to point out that she had planned to lie to everyone about the format. All of the marketing, pre-show interviews, and statements from Taylor even on the show itself in the first few episodes called it a talk show and her a talk show host. (remember the joke about her being the only woman talk show host?.. well she’s not a talk show host, is she?) I don’t know why Taylor and the show producers decided to just straight up lie to everyone and then shame people who try to ask them about it instead of owning up to it, but it’s really sad and disappointing to see.
