@@johnc473 I don't think it is practical to rehearse every interview. This isn't rehearsed, some shows such as Jimmy Fallon are but regular interviews aren't for the most part. Taylor is very well spoken and is able to articulate her thoughts quickly and eloquently.

I'm in awe of the way Taylor handled that whole situation. Even when the woman was trying to squeeze every last bit of information out of Taylor she presented herself with such politeness and poise.

+Ciara wallace it had been my dream for the past almost 10 years since I started listening to her music when I was 11. I actually won the most amazing contest which allowed me to fly to Australia where I spent a week on a private island where she was staying too! You may have seen her Instagram pictures where she was with the parrot and the koala etc? (I also held that koala about two days after she did!) but the contest was to see a private acoustic performance with less than 50 fans in the room and then a meet and greet where she told me my eyebrow game was strong and that she loved me! (I almost died!) if you google "Taylor swift nova's red room Hamilton island) you can see the clips from the show! She was incredible and such a sweetheart and so beautiful and genuine and she smelled really really good! Haha never give up on your dream to meet her! I never thought it would happen to me but it did! You'll get there someday! Don't give up! :)

Salma Chahbai exactly what Fiorella Lucía Lucía said.Although it i understand that no one and i mean no one wants to speak about exes.Whether you came out of good or bad relationship it's still the same you wouldn't want to remember the good or the bad.Especially you wouldn't want to share it with some stranger or the whole world.There come moments when you want to speak up so the rock would slide off but she knows not to let her emotions come between her career and her private life.Doesn't matter though i still kind of understand why the interviewer asked her that question and it's so obvious that Style is meant for Harry Styles.She wanted for us to know that otherwise she would have not titled the name of the song as Style or anything similar to Style!

Taylor made it so clear that she doesn't talk about her personal life but the interviewer kept pushing it and the questions were cheap shots like "does that person sing?" But Taylor was really smart in her responses

Who cares who she wrote it about? Yeah everybody knows she dated him, but she's right to not name names, and it seems really respectful of her even when she's telling the world how a guy hurt her or how they're not done or whatever to not tell them his name. That shows that she respects him and herself. GOOD JOB TAYLOR!!

She's so well-spoken and thoughtful in her answers.

Really sick of these interviewers basically implying that a conversation with Taylor Swift on her music alone isn't 'interesting' enough without getting some personal gossip leaked in the process. Some people actually like to hear what she has to say, she's an insightful, charming, talented woman - stop trying to exploit her as if she's not worth enough based on those attributes. In your relentless pushy pursuit for gossip you entirely missed what she was trying to explain was the point of her music, which is that she doesn't want her audience to picture 'her experiences' as they listen to it but rather have it relate to their own experiences.

Trying to make the guest uncomfortable, asking tricky questions and hoping they might slip a word about smth they actually don't want to talk about, being too nosy, etc. show some RESPECT and view these artists as people who have a privat live and want to keep it that way! no manners really...

5:40 "Do you have that person?" " ...like I said, everybody has that person!" This is my favorite part, Taylor can handle every situation so well. I love this women, true queen.

The interviewer's annoyed little "the name's a little provocative" pissed me off. She had no right to basically ask if the song was about Harry Styles, and Taylor absolutely had the right to respond to that with an eyeroll if she wanted to and nothing else. Yet the woman gets mad when Taylor gives a polite answer, smh

She’s so good at coming up with the right words in interviews. She never sounds stuck up or disrespectful like so many other people do

Taylor did an incredible job answering those questions. She is very graceful even to the point where she didn't react when the interviewer rudely said "the name is provocative." Taylor truly has such class.

Not Sure I know it's been 3 years, but I heard "Dear John" is a common phrase is U.S. More like a "poetic" phrase, not literally "...dear *insert name..."

this was one of her best interviews in the 1989 era to me...she talked so nicely & was so sophisticated

Her generation is privileged to have such an erudite, eloquent and intelligent spokeswoman. Good choice. I’m looking forwards to hearing her perspectives on many issues over the coming years...

WOW TAYLOR IS A BOSS. That interviewer was trying to get her to say a specific name, and reveal something but Taylor handled it so well. Even after Taylor said she doesn't name names and explained why, the interviewer still had the nerve to say "the name's a little provocative" how dare she.

I agree, the interviewer was incredibly rude. But to a degree she was right - there is a contradiction between using a song title and the lyrics of a song to imply the identity of who you're writing about and then saying "I don't name names." It reminds me of the Bad Blood fiasco - Taylor gave enough info that people know with certainty that the song is about Katy Perry, but falls back on the argument of "well, I won't say who the song's about." I like her and I like her music, but that kind of contradiction feels a little manipulative. But as everyone's said, the interviewer was extremely rude and abrasive.

I'm a huge fan of Taylor but this is the ONE thing that I've always been irritated with. In an interview talking about Style she even said "I should have called this one I Just Don't Care Anymore" referring to the name and who it's about. She's always saying that she prides herself on not naming names but in a way she still does. Even with Dear John, Teardrops, and writing "Tay" in the hidden message of Back To December. She's not saying "This song is about Harry Styles!!" but it's so obvious she might as well just say it and not seem so contradictive.

Mel T Exactly she's one of the few artists that are external well spoken and articulate. One of my fav artists who is also like that is Logic. He's a rapper and but he's extremely well spoken and intelligent I love listening to his interviews as well.
