People get so offended by anything these days. He was speaking Catholic values at a Catholic college and got a standing ovation, and he's never been shy about being a devout Catholic. As a working woman i am not at all offended by anything he said and I value his opinions, as he is entitled to them and I believe he comes from a genuine place of good faith. This is the same mentality that has been keeping women oppressed, the same mentality that has ben limiting the professional opportunities of women, the same mentality that spreads that “ a woman without kids is not as valuable as one with kids”, that a woman’s career is not as significant as a man’s career. He stated you should be proud of their degrees..his religion ( weather you like it or not) is against same sex marriage. Not by women trying to reach self actualization. So yes. Truth over opinion. Imposing liming beliefs on women seeking education will not solve the fact that the structure of corporations on keeping men overworked and overtired deprioritizes the family he is supposed to keep emotionally and physically connected to. So this mentality of asking women to be the 24/7 available parent doesn’t fulfill the child’s needs. It’s only masking the problem and making men think that women belong in one specific place. Not a real sustainable and healthy solution. Children need healthy, self- actualized, available parents. I agree family and community should be a priority, imposing limiting beliefs on women and men alike is not prioritizing the health of the family system
