Mine too I think! I remember daydreaming in primary school about having supernatural powers and being a witch that could curse all my bullies… it really reminded me of that and I love it. Even though I feel like its related to Taylor’s unrelatable experiences but still!

The fact that im moving to florida the end of the summer to start over new. To escape the toxicity that is my family here where I live. To hopefully escape my extreme depression and suicidal ideation, etc. Her explaination about "Florida" is giving me life tbh. Because it feels like the universe is speaking to me through her saying "hang in there a little longer, dont do anything stupid. Just wait until you get to florida so you can start your new life, its going to get better." I feel like not many will feel such a strong to connection to that song... but for me, it came at just the right time. Such a simple almost meaningless song saved my life. ❤

well, not to get political, but liberals are more depressed, is that part of your problem? moving to the sun filled land is a good idea, because VitD is key (not that during Covid they told us this!). avoid junk food, exercise, get some sun, work hard, focus, things will turn around!

You have to remember there is almost nothing that can go wrong, a bad choice that you make, or a bad situation you are in that you can’t “fix.” It may take a while, it may be a lot of work, it may be super hard- however you CAN and WILL do it. When you make it through this, make it your responsibility to help someone else.

Texan and Taylor Swift fan here. TPD rules. Florida!!!, But Daddy I Love Him, Down Bad, and Fortnight are the standouts, but the whole album is rad.

I’m proud of her for saying all she says on this album but it did make me sad because of all the crap she’s been through and had to put up with. Maybe they will get the message that it’s her life and they don’t have the right to say what she should or shouldn’t do. Instant masterpiece! ❤❤❤

So, if they don't have a right to say what she should do, you also don't have a right to say what they should do? Which means you don't have a right to say they don't have a right to tell her what she shouldn't do? Weird. It's almost like saying 'you shouldn't tell people what they shouldn't do' is a contradiction. Actually, depending on the exact way we formalize this, it could instead be a self-referential paradox. You might want to think a little bit harder about your principles and see if they make any sense. Also, if your comment is in relation to her dating MH - she very much deserved criticism for that.

I don't know what your confusion is. Why did you say you never said they "couldn't"? I never said otherwise? How are you managing to confuse "couldn't" with "shouldn't." Again, if they have "no right" to tell her what she should/shouldn't do, then you also have no right to them what they should/shouldn't do. Unless you're suggesting that Taylor is some special goddess that should be immune to criticism. You're exactly why moral reasoning needs to be taught in schools - this is just embarrassing. Everyone has a "right" to make moral judgments. Which is obvious, and is something you're doing right now. You're making a moral judgment about people who make moral judgments about Taylor. It's bizarre, and astonishing how you don't realize this. But this would be a lot less painful if we just dropped the language of 'rights,' which is a nonsensical concept to begin with.

As Taylor Swift is supportive of the LGBTQ community and others that are marginalized and criticized by those who think they are "the mainstream," when I saw the song's title I thought in this song she might be critical of Governor DeSantis here in Florida as he has forcefully advanced hateful, anti-LGBTQ, anti-woke" legislation and revisionist anti-black curricula, for example, saying things like slavery actually benefited some people as it gave them job skills. But that's not Taylor Swift's way as this song is about people moving to Florida to start over and escape their wrecked lives elsewhere in the country, a great observation. Not surprisingly, "Florida" is a really beautiful and well-crafted song!! Brava, Taylor Swift!

I have no idea, what is going on in Florida. But Taylor is usually meaning a bunch of things at the same time, even if she reveals one topic, doesn't mean theres not more to it. Somehow if u tell people it's one way - they stop thinking. No offense to you, just wanted to tell you - maybe you're right, even if Taylor said otherwise;)

Travis seems like he has the capacity to grow and learn and get interested in the things she loves, too. He did say that she opened him up to music he hadn't been into before. And that he is learning and experiencing a lot with her.
