I thought it was the first way until I read the lyrics. Funny thing is, either one made sense. Obviously, "This ain't for the best" is her saying maybe we shouldn't date but "this is for the best" sounds like she is taking it slow with telling him how she feels and making sure that he is "chill" with everything despite her rep.

A little background on the song: This is Track 5 off of 'reputation', which is her most vulnerable song off the album & it's around the time her & Joe first started dating. That's why at beginning she sings, 🎶 My reputation's never been worse 🎶. And why, at the end of the video, you see her genuine smile, because she sees Him (Joe) at the bar. It's the most romantic of all her Track 5's, I think! 🥰😍

This is one of my fave Swift songs. It was such a sweet moment when it fell in the Rep album.

Agust D is part of yoongi, his inner dark psyche that portrays his conflicting thoughts, and Agust D also splits into micro-characters (the rebel, the boss, the peasant, the king, the thief & the cop) that expresses each of his stance.
