Wie immer freue ich mich sehr, dass dir meine Version gefallen hat! Gleichzeitig Lächeln und Weinen - genau wie die Sommerromanze des Originals :-) Wobei wir leider nicht wissen, wem der Text gebührt. Die verbreitete Meinung ist, dass es sich dabei um Taylor Swift's aktuellen Partner Joe Alwyn und die ersten Anfänge ihrer Beziehung handelt. Das halte ich aber nicht wirklich für plausibel, da Joe Alwyn so gar nicht zu dem "Bad Boy" Image aus dem Text passt... Soviel zu ungefragten Swiftie Fan-Infos von meiner Seite :-D Hab einen tollen Tag!

Can I ask how do you arrange the songs? I would like to know since I somehow came up with an arrangement myself but it doesn’t sounds as good. Also, I notice how you went an Octave higher in some verse, why so?

I'll try to answer your questions, although the full answer is probably a bit too long for a KZread comment :-) I always start my arrangements by learning the song by ear straight from the recording - that is the melody, the chords, the bass line and any important parts of the arrangement like vocal harmonies, any breaks before the chorus, rhythmic hits, energy curves etc etc. Then I sit down at the keyboard and improvise around that original structure. I record this process and try to come up with a few different takes. I listen back to my recording and decide on the parts I like the most. I transcribe those and put them together as a basic arrangement. The last step is to refine that basic arrangement. I play through what I got out of the previous step and see if there's any way, I can make it sound better (to my ears at least haha), more emotional, more unique or whatever. This then becomes the final version which I record and upload to KZread :-) To your second question about which octave to play a melody in: Try to think of the piano as an orchestra with a whole palette of different sounds you can use to convey the emotions you're trying to express. Every register has its own character and melodies sound quite different depending on where on the keyboard you play them. The idea of a cover (to me at least) isn't to reproduce the original 1:1 - which would be impossible anyway because a) we're playing the piano, we're not singing and b) no two humans sound exactly the same if you listen closely enough. It's more about finding a way to express that unique you. I hope that makes sense? 😊

Music is pleasing to hear but hard to make it heard by the heart. This is by far the best arrangement I’ve ever listen to. There hasn’t been any cruel summer cover to listen to but now I do.
