since 2022, it's been clear that korda's serve is not sufficient given his height. like fritz, he's a tall guy and not an elite mover, but the difference is that fritz has a top tier serve when he's hitting his spots. korda might have the cleaner strokes and better touch, but fritz has actual depth and much more power on his shots. he actually has the tools to construct points and put the ball away, whereas korda has to work a lot harder (especially on slow surfaces such as in rome) and hasn't demonstrated much shotmaking prowess either

Very nice breakdown I might also add Fritz anticipation on shots makes up for his speed which he has actually improved last few years.

Agreed. Korda needs to develop a real weapon and master it. He looks confused how he wants to play. Hopefully he finds a strategy that works for him.

Korda's power is lacking which is strange considering his height.

Korda plays with a wilson blade. That racquet requires you to generate your own power, which he cant. Im sure he knows this but doesnt want to give up the control associated with that frame.

Korda has to learn how move forward and take the ball earlier and out of the air when he gets his opponent in trouble. 90% of the time he just waits back at the baseline and has to restart the point.

Same problem Rafa is facing . He has to realise that he isn't 20 anymore. He should should come forward after that cross court and finish the point .

Agreed. Korda was a promising future star few years ago but has been disappointed lately. He is not aggressive enough going to the net and changing his ball directions.

That elbow on forehand from Fritz is outrageous, so much spin and power 1:15

There's no racquet head speed on Korda's forehand sometimes. Instead of massaging the ball he just needs to hit it like Fritz. It's clear that he has better hand skills than Fritz but he gets punished every time he puts the ball in play instead of being aggressive.

I think it's time to call Korda overhyped-- by tennis fans, and by himself. Didn't he refer to himself as a "favorite" at Wimbledon last year, only to be bounced in the first round?

kordas attitude can be improved by holding his head a little lower. it seems these courts didnt favor his need to hit the ball very precise. maybe he shouldve paid extra attention to footwork. in any case his game didnt work, he didnt hit clean enough. no reason to be a sour loser.
