I had a man tattoo my back who has been tattooing for 56 years. He gave me stress ball and put on a movie to watch while he tattooed me. He would also ask me questions about the movie as he tattooed. I think it definitely helps.

I'm autistic and some mental health issues, so when I got my first tattoo a few months ago, I watched so many "how to prepare for a tattoo" videos. I hought drinks and snacks and fidgets and a small blanket, but I didn't end up needing anything but my water. My artist was amazing. He talked to me about my interests so much, he put netflix on and let me choose a film, he let me know everything he was doing and why BEFORE he did it. Just the best guy ever.

I'm autistic as well and "over prepared" so to speak but i had the same experience! My artist talked to me the whole time and before we started asked what music I'd like to listen to and had it going the whole time i was there. He was so lovely i cannot wait to get my second tattoo there soon.

That’s awesome you had such a good experience with your artist. The best artists know how to put people at ease and walk them through the process. Mine got me into a zone and before he hit areas that he knew were going to be more intense than the main body of work he would get me into an almost meditative state and have me focus on breathing and stet talking about what I enjoyed etc a couple minutes before hand and it directed my attention to something else an I hardly noticed the pain from the edge of my armpit/base of my neck.

Can I ask, did you share that you’re autistic with your artist? Artists I’ve been to are super accomodating but I never thought to mention my autism. I’m wondering if your artists was just naturally that accomodating or if it was because you informed them you’re autistic. Either way, I’m so happy to hear you had such a wonderful experience!

As an artist, I *love* that ink splash back tattoo! It’s amazing! On the mom memorial story: what are the odds that the client just said that to freak out the tattoo artist because he knows the guy is dramatic and wanted to see what he’d say? It seems like the kind of tattoo that you could invent all kinds of false “meanings” for whenever someone asks about it. Or maybe that’s just what I’m telling myself to be able to sleep tonight.

I have both my ears tattooed ! A raincloud on one, stars on the other. They were stick n poked by a professional. Sooo painless, easy, only a bit of blacking out was painful. I don't even remember them being itchy. I get so many compliments and they're one of my favorite tattoos. Also, for fidgets, that's what got me thru my rib tattoo, just twirling a ball in my hand was so helpful and distracting !

For ear tattoo : -it will be expose to the sun a lot so it will fade faster. -if you wear helmet a lot etc it will fade a bit faster. - the process can cause keloid. But it's like every tattoo. You need to understand the pros and cons. Do your research and have fun with your skin ⭐

"Do you accept forms of payment other than cash?" "Ummmmmmmmm, I take bank transfer if that helps" 🤷‍♀

all i can think about with the feet tattoo is how ticklish my feet are and how that would be straight up torture to get done

I LOVE that chaotic ink splatter tattoo! Totally unique.

Definitely had the multiple stencils experience on a full sleeve and it's pretty funny, especially when your tattoo artist is a perfectionist and reprints the paper version in 4 different sizes to make sure it's the right fit... and then 20+ more minutes of freehanding. I was sure we'd start at some point lol

i actually just got an ankle wrap around! the stencil took SUCH a long time. my artist was super apologetic but i appreciate that he wanted it to be perfect- and it was so worth it!

With the whole needle thing, i can do tattoo needles easy peasy, (i'm autistic and i lov the sensory input of the vibrations), and injections at the doctors are okay too but blood draws are an absolute no! I tried to explain this to my dad but had didn't get it and said "but you're covered in tattoos!"

I know you haven't been feeling the best recently but you are looking hella fine and glowing in this video girl!

I'm literally with my doggy now! I got my little ghostie tattoo touched up on Friday and I'm getting a bunch of new tattoos in January which I'm super excited for. Never clicked this fast. The perfect way to end my day. Been in the hospital for a week now and had my surgery last Thursday. Been doing pretty good and I am able to stand up on my own and walk with crutches. I might be able to leave the hospital on Sunday and finally go home. You help me going through the days and nights without going crazy and getting too sad. Thank you ❤ you are incredible ❤❤❤❤❤

My favorite tattoo is of my Australian shepherd. I lost her to a blood disease. I'm a photographer and it was from a photo I took done in black and gray except for blue eyes. She had the most human blue eyes.

these videos both make me horrified of some people's decisions, especially when they decide to tattoo themselves without any practice under the belt, as well as inspire me to get more tattoos... i have been fantasizing of getting my back tattooed and i am extremely close of trying to book an appointment for it!!

My last artist distracted me during my 8+ hour tattoo session by playing a whole season of Jersey Shore 😂 it was amazing i barely noticed the time go by

Plus they were already pushing for a darker style then normal, I honestly think they'll settle in and love it but it's just outside theyre comfort zone

1000% agree with the needles thing - i always inform nurses who need to take blood that i have a phobia, or i'll get to be too stressed out and things will take much much much longer than needed (the time i found out i've a phobia for needles in veins was... a day)

My dad will often do work while getting tattooed, our artist finds it funny that he's running a concrete plant on his laptop and formulating batches remotely.

Yay, these series makes me so exited!! Also I have to say, but the last couple of times my little dog was with me watching you, she was looking at the screen and it was so cute! Ok, I'm gonna get my snacks, be comfy and watch this! (Also I added my tattoo in the little google form thing a couple of weeks ago, I'm interested to find out when you'll see it!)

I’m one of those people that likes to peel skin and pop pimples, but there’s some things I just refuse to pick at no matter how bad I want to!!! Tattoos are one of those things!!!! I ain’t spending all that money for me to ruin it!

My artist asked if there was anything I wanted to watch. So he stuck the new batman on for me. It definitely takes your mind off the pain.

Lauren! You look absolutely gorgeous today! That shirt is so cute, your hair is such a great color, and they contrast so well. That plus the slightly more understated makeup look is just a hell of a combination. You're an absolute stunner! 😍💕

I actually have an ear tattoo but I don't know if I can weigh in since it's so simple lol. I got two blue dots about 3 mm in diameter each tattooed into the flat of my ear at least 10 years ago now. I know that sounds really weird but I can explain! I had ferrets and some ferrets come with tattoos in their ears. All of mine had two dots tattooed in blue in their ears. I loved my ferrets so much and I knew even after they passed I would want to remember them in some way but I wasn't really tattooed much at the time so I thought the dots would be nice. So! Long story short, they have both lasted incredibly well. The blue is still noticeable and they haven't gotten that patchy over time. The only thing is that they have gotten fuzzy around the edges, which makes sense since it's been such a long time. I can't say a more intricate tattoo would fair better or worse, but that's my two cents!

These episodes always make my evening!!

If I'm not talking with my artist I'm absolutely fidgeting with a toy and listening to my music. I have ADHD so sitting perfectly still for hours at a time is a daunting task. I notice when I completely zone into the gadget my tolerance skyrockets.

I got my 1st tattoo within the last months of high school and told 1 of my teachers and by the end of the day all my teachers I still talked to had asked if they could see it! I absolutely showed them and it was such a good moment

I got my ear tattooed about a year ago, no pain whatsoever, but I only did it on the "plain" part of the ear (scapah according to google), and for the healing, I used saniderm, so no itchiness. I did it in purple, and it is intact!

I have my ear tattooed .. it’s a leaf vine and it was painless, totally! It also didn’t itch and healed really quickly and easily so wins all round! I also have a full sleeve that goes very lightly across my chest and over the opposite shoulder that was done all together and made up of multiple small stencils … placing took a while and the tattoo took eight hours one day, with a follow up session if about five hours. Getting all the pieces in the right place from different angles was challenging ( it also includes one stencil on my hand) but I absolutely love it and it gives me so much happiness every time I look at it all 😊

I'm getting a doggo tattoo next year! She passed away Oct this year due to cancer, I have lots of SH scars on my arms (some because of losing her) so I'll be getting her tattooed over it. Based on a photo from her first time at the beach after I adopted her. Thinking about getting a quote under it "Always beside me." because thats the quote I put on her urn.

Even if I secured weeks off work to get the bottom of my feet tattooed, I have a really hard time staying off my feet even when I'm chilling at home. It looked great, it could never be an option for me though. I'm sure it'd fall out straight away

I got my ear tattooed like 10 yrs ago, it's definitely due for a touch up. Some lil stars. It didn't hurt one bit. The facial n neck vibration was really cool feeling honestly. I say go for it! I don't remember the healing process at all so it must've been fairly easy.

I used a keyboard key fidget toy for the spiciest areas of my thigh tattoo recently!!! Worked like a charm to distract me from the pain and I could almost not feel it!!!

Getting your ears tattooed is the easiest! I got mine done a year ago and it held up so far. Healing is super easy, i just moisturized 1-2 a day and that’s it. No itchy phase for me ✨

I'm getting my first tattoo next month for my birthday and I have a phobia when it comes to needles. All my family has said that I won't get it done because I'm such a wimp with needles (I have numbing cream when having blood drawn). I told them it's a lot different having a needle/s going really fast scratching at your skin than one going in your vein/muscle

just got my sleeve filled in with geometric filler, we went for a mix between circles and circuit lines, so many different stencils all over my arm to fill in the spots, had to redo the line stencils a few time to ensure the lines matched up all over the arm.

Thank goodness for you Lauren. I was up all night with severely low body temperature trying to get it sorted and over 36° and this just helped relax me so much just having a little laugh and appreciating beautiful art together. I am warm and snuggly under the "Minky" blanket and cuddling up with a fake Pomeranian called Buddy and a couple of bears so no need to send the Comfort Demon my way 💕.

When I was an irresponsible teen I gave myself several stick and poke tattoos, the first of which - my “practice” round - I worked on the sole of one foot. The tattoo lasted around a year, tops, and then it was gone. The other one I did, on my thigh, same ink, same technique etc, has lasted like 6+ years with no sign of fading.
