The coyote is much better aged than fresh, it was too blobbish and round shaped. I like it better more faded

Totally agree. It benefited from losing the saturation honestly, it even looks more recognizable as a coyote after it's faded

@@nyxcuseme me neither, honestly. To me they tend to look unharmonious with the rest of the body, kinda stiff. And i love traditional style, so I like tattoos that have contrasts and - in lack of better words - are sticker like.

When i was 18 (a full 15 years ago now), i did a butterfly tattoo on the side of my moms hand. I follwed every sanitary procedure i could and was using the safe space my friend used to do her tattoos (she was an actual tattoo artist). Im honestly surprised how well ot turned out amd still looks good today. My mom even got it touched up at an actual tattoo artist later on and they were impressed it stayed so well cuz its such a hard place to do. It was a huge bonding moment for me and my mom as she was divorcing my dad so I am still very proud of it today.

One of my tattoos is done by Daniel the same person that did the black work sleeve with the wolf etc. Mine is 7 years old and it still looks incredible and very saturated. I think the person who shared the pic has not been very diligent with the SPF (and possible the bright light in the pic is also washing it out). As an aside, Daniel was an absolutely gem, and really cares about his work. I was sad when he moved away from my city to another country!

I actually like the coyote a lot better in the faded version. The lines and shading in the fresh one don't look super well done to me but in the faded version those awkwardly harsh parts are washed out and it looks more natural

14:39 maybe an unpopular opinion, but I actually like the aged version better than the fresh one. The fresh tatt was wayy too dark to see much detail, so it lightening as it aged really made the image more recognizable as Toothless (to me, anyway). That said, the reworked version is DEFINITELY the best of the 3 stages.

I have a shin tattoo on my right leg that healed beautifully. It's probably my best healed tattoo out of the 11 I have. It's somewhat fine line but thicker than true fine line while still being delicate and elegant. The artist who did it was voted best tattoo artist in my hometown and I adore her work so much.

I've been thinking of getting a white ink tattoo. I want a linework design on my chest, but something that's a bit more subtle and more natural-looking than black. I like that the white kind of fades into the skin and looks like scars. The other option I'm considering is brown.

  • @thenopedetective

Definitely test it out first! White ink on my skin (with limited sun exposure) turns yellowish and isn't super nice on its own. Ink formulas can also change so it can be difficult to have consistency with fading. Still worth pursuing, but definitely do some smaller testers to see how the ink changes in your skin if possible!

The oldest parts of my left sleeve are almost 20 years old now and still SO vibrant, there are some lines that could do with touching up but overall it has aged so beautifully, and the same for my right sleeve which is over 10 years old! Both are really brightly coloured with a mix of Japanese/New School styles with lots of detail. It really makes a difference to go to a high-end studio/artist who uses quality ink and equipment and properly understands what is going to work well on the body long-term.

I'm so sorry, love. Not many people understand how much many of us grieve dog losses so hard and for so long, just like with close human friends/family. i hope you're okay and that you find a great artist that are able to capture your dog in the best way possible. I'm not going through the same thing, wouldn't say so at all, however I very recently lost a dog friend that was very close to me, that was also my dog's best friend. I've for sure been grieving her, still am. What's also sad is that my dog is only one year younger and they are the same type of mix.. I've for sure been making sure to spend each and every moment with her as nicely as possible. I want to cherish her for however many years we have left. Thankfully my dog is very healthy, the dog that just passed wasn't as healthy.. not that sick either, just not as healthy and sporty as my dog/fluff baby. I just called on my dog (Lucy) to join me in bed for cuddles. I am so grateful I can still cuddle her and everything, I'll never take a single moment together for granted. Again, I'm so sorry for your loss. Sure it's been 5 years, but still.. that goes by so fast. I really hope you're able to find a good, caring, and incredibly talented and professional tattoo artist to help you forever visibly memorize her/him. Dog loss/grief (family pet grief) is no joke.

I'm still not a believer in the micro tattoos. I do not believe there is a way to reliably have good looking aged ones, no matter what any artist says. A person may have skin that holds ink better, stay inside and always keep their skin moisturized, but I believe eventually it will look like a gray smudge. 🤔 Looking sharp as always! Thank you for another fun video! 😊

I'm FINALLY getting a BIG coverup of this ugly tattoo (thankfully just linework, but it's relatively big) on my upper arm in february, paid the deposit today. I'm going to an incredibly experienced artist who specializes in big, bold, dark-themed blackwork and full on blackout tattoos. He's great. I've been lucky enough to see how his work turns out not just fresh or even healed via just instagram pictures, but in real life, and they really hold uo SO WELL. He owns a private studio, where I'm going to get it done (he's also a traveling artist who works both inside several cities in my country (Norway), as well as in several other countries. I'm so excited!!!! Time couldn't go by quicker, omgggg. At least it'll be healed by summer, so getting it done during a norwegian winter is good. Then it'll stay fully covered during most of the healing time, it at least won't be exposed to direct sunlight for a long time.. + I'll obvs wear sunscreen and protect it as much as possible to minimize any sun exposure damage. I know it will turn out so sick and that it will suck to have to cover it for several months with clothing, but oh well.. it will keep it as great as possible for the longest time possible, which is what matters the most.. but still.. 😅

Not anyone who does black work only because I feel like we see it more than any other color. I feel like it would make for a good video that might get quite a lot of views. I personally plan to have quite a lot of white ink tattoos but through my personal research I am struggling to find someone who I can trust to do a good job especially within the United States. ❤

I actually have a few fine line/detailed tattoos that are like 4/5 years old and have aged beautifully, and I've found it entirely depends on the skill of the artist. You just need to really research and look at how their work heals. If they know how to do the style, the tattoos will last (of course aside from general aging effects). It's just like how the bold black one here might not've aged well due to the artist's skill level despite the style of tattoo
