There is some truth in this statement... in a positive sense. Messi stands above all other players, but it is always difficult when teammates cannot understand and utilize his brilliance. Di Maria knows how to play with Messi to achieve the best result for the team. Completely different from PSG, where the club put all its interest in the wrong horse - Mbappé. They should have built the team around Messi from the start. With this great team they could have won the CL. But Mbappé's ego ruined everything. He can say whatever he wants today. I still remember what a huge diva and idiot he was when Messi was in the team.

He is the only old guard player I find useful as Suarez's days are numbered because of his knees. No Neymar, Ronaldo or Griezmann is as important as Di Maria, who complements Messi excellently, scores goals himself in most important situations and is an overall good team player. Neymar is injured far too often, mentally unstable and far too expensive. Ronaldo makes everything an ego trip and is not at the same level in terms of play. Griezmann and Messi tend to get in each other's way, as Griezmann has a similar position but is nowhere near as effective as Messi. We saw what happened in Barcelona. Di Maria would be the best and most effective choice and he is probably the most affordable of these players.

@@markconstance186 It's true, he's not worth all the money he makes. i prefer by far Di Maria, he is mental stable and a fighter in difficult situation. He is also not as often injured as Neymar and he is still very fast and a good finisher too.
