1.That energy bar had to be expired as fuck 2. the cereal has powdered milk in it 3. I tend to use the beverage bag for the coffee and save the other drinks for my lunch and dinner 4. It is indeed a tradition to eat the "mint" 5. Our service rifle is the C7A2 or the C8 Carbine (The Canadian version of the M4.)

And unless it’s changed, most people don’t heat the fruit bag up.
Your French is somewhere between Inspector Clouseau and a native Spanish speaker. Quite an achievement !
Add the cereal/oatmeal to the pears (or other fruit pack) after heating. That's how I used to do it.

In Canada we do not call it Canadian bacon, we call it peameal ham or peameal bacon, or possibly back bacon in some areas, if it says bacon it is just regular bacon the same as in America. Canada is only cold in the winter it is hot in the summer. In fact 90% of Canadians live within 100 miles of the U.S. border and more than 70% of Canadians live below the 49th parallel (so around 60% live south of Seattle). Most American's have this vision of Canada being very cold, and it is in some parts of Canada in the winter but not all of Canada all the time. But even the more northern parts of Canada (where I am from) it can be very very cold in the winter but it is still hot in the summer.

New to the channel! Loving the concept and production style! As a Canadian, I gotta say that Canadian bacon is an American invention. I still don't even know what that is lol. I'll rock the maple syrup stereotype proudly. Don't drink that swill on tables at diners. Anything called table syrup is just maple flavoured corn syrup. Gotta get the real stuff!

"Canadian Bacon" is Back Bacon. Americans are silly when the find something they don't understand. They make up a name instead of asking what things are. 😂
Ketchup comes from the Hokkien Chinese word, kê-tsiap, the name of a sauce derived from fermented fish. It is believed that traders brought fish sauce from Vietnam to southeastern China. The British likely encountered ketchup in Southeast Asia, returned home, and tried to replicate the fermented dark sauce

Ketchup is originally Chinese. Called 'katyap', it was a dark, strongly flavoured fish sauce. It has changed a lot over the century and three-quarters of its Western life.
Canada doesn't use bullpups, they use locally made M16s and other AR platforms, and I think Australia also recently switched from the AUG to ARs

Watching this at midnight and now I want to go down to the kitchen and cook up bacon, eggs and hashbrowns. Oh yeah, and I'm Canadian 🇨🇦
If you're doing a Winter EX, you tear down the IMP and tuck it in pockets on your kit. Usually the main meal and bar goes in a pocket next to your skin to keep it warm-ish, so it's not terrible. They're pretty dense at the best of times, as it is.

Canadian Arty crews have stoves and heat the rations in hot water, the heaters are for patrols. The grenola is saved for night guard and has hot water added.
Canadian Veteran here. We use the C-7. Basicly it's a Canadian version of the M-16 or M-4 (C-8) in the carbine version........but better! Essentially all our weapons are the same as the US weapons, just with different names. The ration heater is like your guys, cause we originally got them from you, ours our bigger because our meal pouches are wider than the MREs. Hashbrowns and bacon is one of the best breakfasts.

@kevin.keen.socialmedia Yes, that and a larger diameter gas tube, cold hammer forged barrel, which I believe is chrome lined and we had optics on it as standard way before they did.
Ketchup originated in the far east and had nothing to do with tomatoes. Sailors tried to recreate it using mushrooms, tomato ketchup is a fairly recent creation
That was great guys. And yes, eggs in our IMPs are disgusting. The original ham omelette meal was just brutal. I always made sure I got the sausage and hash brown. That was outstanding.
Canadian cadet here I ate those energy bars and yes they get solid in the winter , a challenge me and my friends like to do is whoever can break the bar in 1 minute will win 10$😂

15:13 I’ve heard a joke that it’s a full loaf of bread squashed down to a bun size.
It tastes like lemon lime Gatorade because that's exactly what it is 😊
We throw the energy bar into hot water or you store it in an inside pocket to soften it up.
I am canadian can confirm we all have frozen ponds behind our igloos to play hockey and to get to and from school or work we have sled beavers not sled dogs

I was going to say, my neighbour used to make a little rink in his backyard so the neighbourhood kids could play hockey. But there were also lots of frozen ponds to skate on. And a park near where I lived most recently would build a little rink on the basketball court so people could play hockey in winter. Stereotypes exist for a reason! I've never played hockey. But I'm female, so there was far less expectation of that.

Would it have been better if they put cinnamon and nutmeg in the pears? Would that change the shelf life of the rations?
