Tasmanian Wilderness - UNESCO World Heritage Site

The Tasmanian Wilderness is a beautiful and impressive UNESCO World Heritage Site in Tasmania, Australia. Covering almost the entire western half of Tasmania, the Tasmanian Wilderness consists of seven National Parks and several nature preserves. It's such a special area that it satisfied seven of UNESCO's ten World Heritage criteria, more than any other site! The wilderness area is a beautiful showcase for Tasmania's unique plants and animals, and is home to temperate rainforests - a rarity for the southern hemisphere. Let's have a closer look!

Yeah, it's definitely a beautiful part of the world, and the devils are super cute! They can be terrifying though, they're named Devils for a reason ;) Thanks for watching!

The climb up that mountain looks like it was pretty tough but really rewarding. I'm glad the weather was good when you got to the top!

This was so enlightening. Had no idea about this stretch of land. The wallaby was super cute. And those rainfalls were beautiful. You captured all of this really well. Such a well thought out video.

Thanks! Tasmania doesn't get airtime like Uluru or the Reef, but it's definitely one of Australia's highlights. Thanks for watching 👍

Thanks for watching! There's some amazing places to camp in Tasmania, and the World Heritage area here is very large. I'd probably start with the Tasmanian Parks & Wildlife Service who run the national parks, their website is: parks.tas.gov.au/ . And if you're looking to see the Tasmanian Devils, we saw those at the Devil Sanctuary just near Cradle Mountain, as they're very difficult to find in the wild! Good luck, and enjoy Tasmania 😎

Being sold off in small blocks as we speak, Lake Malbena rezoned for developers. Takayna should be WH listed asap

Yeah it's pretty concerning, that's for sure - and I'm not especially confident in government's ability to manage the area effectively :-/ Thanks for watching! 👍
