    Thank you so much for this video. I was glad to see that the three input levels, low, medium, and high are in effect just either cuts or boosts, and that the actual fine adjustment is done with the input's level control. Thankfully, I don't see any evidence of there being some sort of automatic limiter, which was my number one concern, and is the primary reason why I can't do at least some casual recording using my (Android) phone. Thanks again.

  • @StudioonaStick

    @StudioonaStick

    2 жыл бұрын

    If you aren't going to do a lot of processing and are mainly concerned with recording raw tracks, a 006 is adequate. The mic ins are a bit limiting since they are not xlr but that's not a huge deal if you are in a small "studio" environment. Cable runs will be short and interference will be negligent. Plus you can use a $10 DI box to solve that issue if it arises. I like the DP series because it's a bit larger and more user friendly. The newer handheld style models are excellent for portability and features, but they are more difficult to navigate and use. If you are going to record tracks and export them to your friend for mixing and mastering, you have what you need, I'd just add a DI box. Thanks.

    @@StudioonaStick Thanks for the input. User friendly is good. I'm sticking with what I've got. If I get serious and also need more tracks I can always upgrade. It'll probably take me a year to master all there is with the 006. I'll comment on how the first 4 track recording goes. You're sure making it a lot more fun by making it easier.

    Hmm, good sound, but why do you have to load your demo on to a PC?, I thought this had an SD card that you can store demo's on??. Also,- I cannot see how this recorder is able to record 6 tracks, it's a 4 track !!

    You have to move it out of the machine if you want other people to hear it. For storage you can leave the songs on the Tascam. At 18:15 I explain how it has up to 6 tracks. Thanks for watching.

    @@StudioonaStick nope, sorry, just can't see 6, separate, independently recordable tracks on this . 🤷

    @@StudioonaStick sorry, but that doesn't make any sense either!. Maybe a different tutorial, delivered in a different way might help?. I think I might need a tutorial about the tutorial if you see what I mean?. Anyway, thanks for your time👍

    @@501sqn3 It makes perfect sense. If I had time I'd list 100 mixers that are named 12. 16, 24, 32...none of which have that number of individual mono inputs. Maybe you're jerking my chain lol
