    THANK YOU! i wasted a bunch of time on a few videos that never did a demo! it sounds good, and i'm thinking of getting one because I'd have to buy too much gear to make a looper that costs the same work. a multitracker WITH MICS makes more sense, and this sounds good enough to play around with unlike a nasty sounding 4 track cassette deck i bought used and regretted in the 90s. hanks for taking time to help us wannabes out.

    I have this little guy for maybe over 10 years. It great at reproducing whatever you put into it(good or bad) ha ha. I upgraded after that to the dp_008ex. If someone out there is gonna buy get this one! They are so cheap now and still small with 8 tracks and great quality reverb. For some years now I mainly use the dp_24. I keep my synthesizers, mics, guitar goodies all plugged in which is nice. I just found your video on the styrmon timeline which I recently bought. Nice video and thank you.

    Muchas gracias por el video claro y preciso, una consulta ¿se puede exportar los canales por separados, para hacer la mezcla en un DAW en el computador?

  • @gwugluud
    @gwugluud2 жыл бұрын

    I bought this just because it was so cheap, lol. But wow, it's actually very good. I come from 4 track cassette in 1981, then Boss BR multitracks, now DAWs mainly, especially Reaper, which is the one I find the most understandable. I had to delete free Cakewalk, because it was a frustrating, convoluted nightmare, lmao. This I use to mix down tracks and then put the result onto a stereo track in a DAW sometimes, if the CPU is getting all spastic and I'm forced to nix some tracks so my computer will stop bawling and snowflaking. Who knew it was hard for a computer to make sounds...I know, freeze tracks, but there's something about doing that which bothers me rotten; it takes several minutes per track to do that. With good outboard EQs and compressors, this small Tascam would be totally usable for any purpose. It's got very clean sound. I have aimed the mics toward a drumkit, and the recording came out astonishingly good. Those built-in mics are good. Then take the old-school way of running the drumkit track into my DAW via the output from the Tascam into the 2 tracks of my interface. This probably seems abominable to most people, but having come from 4 track cassette, doing stuff like that, and bouncing tracks to make room, are completely 2nd-nature to me, I'm used to it.

    I just got Tascam DP-006. Sounds great. I'm sure there's more to learn, but I am keeping it basic right now. Have you heard of Audacity? I use that to mix and master. It's good to have around. Well, I am using both.

    Great video man ! That unit is amazing. Unfortunately the only thing I cannot figure out is the MOST important thing actually. . . How do you ACTIVATE the AUTOPUNCH IN/OUT once you've set both location points? Usually on most multitracks all you gotta do is hit Play & Record, and Record blinks until it reaches Location point A, then stays Lit while recording the A/B segment, and the Record button goes off right after the B point, while the song keeps playing . . . Can you help ? 🙏 Thank you so much for your time. Have a Wonderful night.

    Hi Perry. Thanks for the review. I wanted to ask if you have used the repeat function to loop a track? Just curious if this would be extra functionality as I am looking at this for recording.

    Thank you very much 🙏 Yes, I do, but not so often, I prefer to make loops with the Tascam multitrack tape recorder not with the Dp006. I think it's more fun

    @@PerryFrank Thanks for the reply. Same here and love using the 4 track tape recorder for loops. Sometimes I want to play a longer section (over a minute) So wanted to see if this would be a viable solution to playing those tracks.

    Hi there, thanks for the instructions. They are exactly like the user's manual! However, when I mastered it, it picked up ambient noise from the microphones! Are there more settings I'm missing, how do I just get the 4 tracks mastered and not the background noise!

    Whats up, dude? Great video. I have a question for you...I'm not very tech savvy. Once you have your tracks down and master your song, is it pretty easy to transfer it to a computer? What format would I need to use if I wanted to put one of my songs on Instagram? Any advice would help. Thanks!!!

    Appena acquistato e visto il tuo tutorial, grazie mille Frank! Tanta roba. Ne approfitto per chiederti, suggerisci più la modalità mid o high per la registrazione?

    Grazie infinite 🙏 io registro sempre in mid a volte in low per evitare problemi di clipping.

    Great video! I have this recorder, but have a couple of questions regarding volume settings. For the music I do, I need the finished music to have the maximum volume I can get. While I'm recording, I have the rec volumes as high as I can get without overloading the signal. On the mixing stage I have the volumes pretty high. However, my finished tunes sound quite low in volume. It seems like I have to turn all the volumes almost to maximum to get volumes as good as a professionally produced tune. Any tips on getting maximum punch in volume? Thank you!

    Thank you very much! The answer is simple. When you export the master, in fact you are exporting a mixdown at the end. So you must give a mastering to have a good volume.

    @@jeffreybarton8095 you need a software that can master a file wave track like your mixdown. Or you can do it in a mastering studio.

    Fantastico video Frank! Quale altro registratore consiglieresti? Intendo senza mixing e master.... Qualcosa da portare sempre con se, registrare con qualità chitarre, voci e amplificatori su sd e poi esportarle su Pc per mix e master...

    Secondo me questo è il migliore, proprio per fare quello che scrivi.
