It's a real shame that Paul started as the Ken of Tekken, and ended up as Tekken's Dan Hibiki.

Are you fucking kidding me? Have we been playing the same game? I've looked his endings and cutaways in previous Tekken games - 5 through to 7 - and they are literal *jokes* mate. Paul Phoenix, and anyone like him in Tekken, are basically children-level humour jokes. *That's* the kind of writers you're dealing with.

Pretty sure Kazuya and Paul fought to a draw after beating the stuffing out of each other for hours, according to the canon. It's still weird to me that Paul became an in-unverse joke character. He beat Heihachi, Jin, and Ancient Ogre in the third tournament but left before Ogre transformed because he thought he'd won the whole thing. Wow, I know Tekken 1 had memory limitations but hearing Kaz voice clips out of Lee is weird.

@@nugget3327 Calling Jin a Kazuya rehash in Tekken 6 isn't accurate. Take out the seeming loyalty to people who worked under him previously, and Kazuya has zero redeeming qualities as a human being. Jin's ultimate goal in Tekken 6 was to lure out and kill Kazuya, then perish in the process of killing Azazel, thereby eradicating the Devil Gene in it's entirety. Azazel was destroyed, but Jin's plan was a resounding failure, otherwise.

Paul and Kazuya make much better rivals in the franchise in my opinion. Kazuya fights for personal reasons. Paul fights for the thrill of the fight.

Tekken had a great OST right up until Tag 2, which was mixed, but decent.... unfortunately since Revolution it's been generic, forgettable garbage, there's literally one or two, *maybe* three tracks I sorta like in 7, and the rest suck.

For outside of the tournament, sure. But in the tournament Kazuya wins.

To think that Kazuya and Paul fought each other to a draw in canon. Just goes to show how Paul had his moments of comic relief, but he was not to be taken lightly prior to Namco throwing all of his character development out the friggin' window in Tekken 5 and so on.

I would love to see Kazuya's alternate outfit in the future game, the red Nikes and casual clothes were interesting to see on Kazuya.

It’s a shame that Harada and Co. didn’t dive a bit deeper into this rivalry. Even the tekken lore it stated paul entered the 4th tournament to fight Kazuya. Unfortunately he was eliminated by Kuma. Nice TAS video though.

And that's what grinds my gears, they could have brought back Paul and Kazuya's rivalry for Tekken 5 after two decades. But nooo, they just had to make Paul a complete moron with no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

Ok guys Before you Swear me, l will say, just saying a joke, you don't need to take it seriously the joke l made.

Guys. Paul and Kazuya NEVER had a draw in a tekken tournament. It happened right before tekken 1 according to Paul's story (in the manual). The draw in the Tekken 8bits between them is just a reference to that event... In fact it should be more accurate that Kazuya beat Paul, before beating Heihachi in the final round. Otherwise, how could Paul possibly being eliminated in an other way from the tournament ?...

Wrong; Kazuya never even was matched up against Paul in the King of the Iron Fist Tournament II. Paul qualified but was not able to show; he was stuck in traffic. All this is in the original script.

It was in fact, Deathfist to Deathfist. However, it involves animation cancelling. Notice that Kazuya tried grabbing Paul during the first one, which cancelled Paul's animation, but Kazuya still got hit. Then came the second Deathfist. Kazuya did the same to Paul with his Wind God Fist to Thunder God Fist (at 1:27).

완전히 잊혀진 설정은 아닌데, 원래 하다가 말았습니다. 그러나 제 조직(유튜버 멤버십)을 가입하고 워낙 요청을 하길래 올린 겁니다. 오랜 철권팬들이야 기억하기야 해도 이게 "사소한 설정"이지, 제작진이 스토리를 대충 짓는 듯한 느낌 때문에 이런 기믹이 안보이는 거죠. 일단 시도 자체는 하지 않으려고 했습니다. 🧐🧐
