Unlike Street Fighter where even Capcom staff had no idea about Ryu, Tekken pronounced the names of characters really early on. There isn't really an excuse but I do find it funny still.

In fact only the Tekken 3 announcer got it right, which is "Wa-rang". Every other announcer mispronounce it as "wchoa-rang". But about "BOB". Then we got a character actually named Bob and things got even weirder. :/

When I wrote "Hwoarang," I almost typed it as "Hwarang." &" Hworang". In fact, the name "Hwoarang"(화랑) is not a familiar name. 😇😇

Mine too Although my first main/character I used was Jin in Tekken 7 I slowly switched to Hwoarang in both Tekken 3 and 7 Edit: The reason I switched was that one day me and my friends were playing Tekken 7 in my friend’s house and the next day the 3rd friend wasn’t there so we searched Hwoarang and I found out he does TKD and I also do TKD (TaeKwonDo) and thought it might be good to switch to Hwoarang because he would suit my fighting style

@@alzki Yes, it's a transcript of the English translation between Hwoarang and Jin in Tekken 5. In the Tekken lore, Jon was struggling to control the Devil Gene & Hwoarang took an opportunity to kick Jin on the back of his head knocking him out, Jon would reawaken in his Devil Form & would defeat Hwoarang leaving him unconscious at a Hospital bed, He would be visited by his teacher Baek & would return to training in the hopes of defeating his rival Jin again in The King of Iron Fist Tournament 6. Hwoarang would face Devil Jin during the character story in Tekken 7, While the outcome of the fight is unknown, Hwoarang defended Jin from a grenade blast causing Hwoarang's Right Eye injured and falls unconscious. If you ask me, I think Hwoarang should go face to face with Steve Fox sometime as they did face each other during the Home console opening of Tekken 5 and it's a great battle between Hwoarang who uses mainly kicks & Steve who uses mainly Punches.

this was my first Tekken game and Hwoarang was the first character I had played as…I’m honestly really happy that many years later, he’s still my main in Tekken 7!

Tul is proper Korean for ITF patterns as Dragos said. There 2 Tae Kwon Do's and they both different. Pumsae prob wt taekwondo

Tekken 3 is TIMELESS. I always loved Hwoarang's ending, because the main mishima bloodline character lost, and making other characters seem equal or maybe stronger. And love the fact that these 2 were rivals and in their late teens. Mishimas are OP lol, and wish these 2 stayed in their rivalry.

Yeah hworang is a badass jin, hwoarang and xiaoyu are my favorite characters and l can't wait to see them in the tekken bloodline anime this year😊

I love how hard is to perform juggles in Tekken 3. In tekken 7 for example the character is artificially thrown to air repeatedly, while in tekken 3 you have to think fast what air combo would be better depending how far you were when you hit the first juggle punch/kick

This was my dude back in the day. Everyone seemed to hate on this character but I crushed with it. Had a weak but super fast jab I'd open with then...lolz. Awesome video.

I miss how vibrant the hit effects were. That blue light on his power moves is nice to look at.

Fun fact: The man who voices Hwoarang in Tekken 3 is also the Japanese voice of other popular characters such as Final Fantasy 7's Sephiroth, several versions of Dante from Devil May Cry, Leon in the RE2 remake and Minato Namikaze from Naruto.

I find it incredible that most of the animations we see have remained the same since the characters were first added to tekken, goes to show how much they cared about the details in the martial arts they represented in tekken that they look the exact same as the newer games
