The best part: There is only one banana in the Master levels. They used it as THE 100th banana, in order to get an extra life. That's so efficient and polished, everything else is just gravy.

No idea if anyone will see this but my brother and I loved this game and we found a similar way to do that level quickly because we thought it would be easier than the level itself. You go all the way forward but instead of going to the arc you go super fast down the straight path and then hit the platform you spawn on to the left. This would give you enough momentum to then go to the other side and hop around to the goal. It was never a success every time so it took hundreds of attempts to see one perfect run.

I was mildly frustrated it would end with 99/100 bananas. It turned oddly satisfying when you saved the last possible banana for #100.

I think it's funny how the only banana in Master brought him an extra life!

I was surprised about the improvement on e25, I thought the bounce was worthless. overall amazing job on this tas, i can't wait for the smb2 pal tas to come out!

This brings back memories. Memories of torturing monkeys by shaking them and ramming them into walls while they are trapped in small plastic hamster balls.

Some very nice improvements I wasn't aware of. It looks like EX3 has some score WR potential. The EX5 strat is really creative. I thought M1 was really fast on the old TAS, lol.

+scrap651 The problem with the EX3 strat is the fact that it's perhaps harder to goal than any console IL strat, and after that you have about 5% chance to pick up 1 banana, not even speaking about 2 bananas. Also, I have a feeling you could get .43 in M3 on console with this kind of approach (speed not dropping below 12mph on the climb)

+byrz Yeah, It's funny to think that a strat so simple is probably in the top 5 hardest strats in the game. Kind of similar to my early cycle idea. How difficult is M2? I've tried getting a .48 on there before.

+scrap651 In M2 you have to drop a little earlier than normal for .48 but this also makes goaling very close to impossible. I'd say it's maybe possible on console by extensive dedicated grinding. Much easier than EX3, though.

That's just how the model is loaded.Here he takes advantage of the bounce and tilts the controller so he ramps or richochets of walls to get speed

That's not what I was talking about. Plus, I found it. It's called "frame boosting." You start the level holding up-left or up-right on the analog stick, then after you drop in on the level, you flick it back in the other aforementioned direction, and it gives you a tiny boost of speed at the beginning of the level.
