This is one of the games that have utilized the Wii's TRUE capabilities to the FINEST. With amazing graphics and detail, I like to consider this one of the finest Wii games that I have ever played.

I like how they did that music effect when you used that boost move. It's like how Modern Sonic games switch to a secondary track whenever you use Boost except done RIGHT.

Modern Sonic titles don't swap to a different track when boosting, they just put a filter on it to make it sound like you're listening to a nice pair of $1 earbuds you bought at your local Walmart just to listen to audiobooks to

Those particle effects are FANTASTIC.

How the real Cannonball would run. Even though he was the bad guy in the movie, in the PS2 version of the game I always used him because he was the fastest.

Apparently a Speed Racer 2 movie is in development, hopefully we can get a recreation or even a sequel to this game on Eighth or Ninth gen consoles. It definitely deserves it

Oh man, I'm so glad someone did a TAS for this game. It always, ALWAYS felt like the AI was programmed to always be ahead of you every few seconds, and that rubber banding was so intense it's insane. As well proves that even with a TAS, there's no such thing as a perfect run that doesn't involve hitting the walls at some point XD Awesome video!

Just got this game out of a lost box i had and it's FUCKING NUTS. Can't believe this was made just for the movie. It should be a stand alone franchize

This may be controversial but i think rubberbandding isnt too bad. I like when the AI adjusts to my skill so that the game doesnt become too easy and that i can come back for more racing and be sure i wont always be bored and stay in first place. But even then, it depends on the game. For Speed Racer, i dont mind too much becausei love doing car fu so much, it adds more challenge imo. For other games like Gran Turismo, rubber banding would be a shame and not a good thing. I think it really depends on the kind of racing game..

The best thing I've looked on the start is the incredible move and the attack on the drivers, ah would be access at Zone Mode very fast. That's the reason for you win easily, I consider this a "True Driver Experience". Well done.

if you add the 14 seconds before the Rubber Band AI with the 24 or so seconds from Trixie, he finished a whole 28 seconds before 2nd

The Rubber-Banding in this game is stronger than what we see here. If you think the Rubber-Banding HERE is bad, try combining the aggressive opponents and infinite boost codes.

+Bandroid17 People like to talk smack about the Wii's graphical capabilities, but it can really shine when you treat it right.

I feel like it would’ve been better to torpedo through those tight turns than take them normally. I know you were saving boost for Zone Mode, but they’re seriously punishing, especially for a car with bad acceleration like the GRX. You might also be able to delay Zone Mode a bit to carry it through those turns.

I can understand rubber banding in aracade racers like this, but an 18 second lead being closed on like that so quickly is ridiculous lol

If I can remember correctly, that character's car has the highest top speed in the game, and since it's an arcade racer, the handling stat isn't too important, especially not in a tool-assisted speedrun.

I wonder how using a real Wiimote can work at all in a Frame-Advanced TAS, though.

You could simply pair a Wii Remote to a PC with a Bluetooth Dongle, then use the Wii Remote as the controller while you advance the frames and save the savestates on the keyboard. I've attempted it using a Gamecube Controller once with the Adapter, and it worked fine. The problem might be the signal thing, but I'm not sure about the functionality.

Well, Bluetooth has a history of desyncing a lot of stuff (Netplay and TAS-es(?) especially), so I was kinda concerned. Also, I do have experience with Dolphin and Bluetooth, as I've played Rhythm Heaven Fever, NSMBW (both with Wiimote), DJ Hero (with Wiimote Accessory), and Melee/PM (with Pro Controller) recently.

From what I experienced when I played it quite some time ago, yeah, it's well worth picking up, even if it is a little difficult.

When this game first game out i thought it had like the best graphics ever now that i look at it the graphics look terrible
