Land of Illusion Starring Micky Mouse is a sequel to the classic game, Castle of Illusion ( tasvideos.org/3292M ). Though not as famous as its predecessor, this game has many improvements and new mechanics from the series. Levels are selected from an overhead map and can be replayed. Mickey can gain several abilities from levels which are necessary to proceed, such as the ability to shrink himself. Many stages are finished by collecting a star to open the exit door, and there are plenty of puzzles and platforming tricks to keep things entertaining.
The story of the game involves Mickey Mouse himself suddenly finding himself in a gloomy village after falling sleeping while reading his book of fairy tales. The village had its special crystal stolen by an evil phantom, turning the village from one of happiness into one of misery. Mickey must now go off and defeat the Phantom and get the crystal back in order to restore peace and happiness back to this special world.
The8bitbeast ( tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/T... ) improves on his previous run by around 58 seconds (accounting for the boot up screen absent from the previous run) thanks to the usage of a new shortcut and a better understanding of the game's mechanics, allowing for more rigorous optimization.
