Code Name: Viper is a side-scrolling action game programmed by Arc System Works and released by Capcom in 1990 for the Nintendo Entertainment System. The player takes the role of Kenny Smith, code name "Viper", an agent of the 98th Special Forces. He is assigned by his commander, Director Jones, to investigate a large drug syndicate that covers all of South America. Smith's objective is to rescue a missing agent in each of the syndicate's seven hideouts and uncover clues of the Syndicate's true mastermind, all while wearing flesh-colored pants apparently.
Pankaj ( tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/P... ) decides to play on the hardest difficulty, "Hard Mode Second Quest", using a password and beats the game faster than his previous run, saving 6.59 seconds through better lag and spawning management.

It confuses the enemies because why would there be a pantless enemy wandering around

Bold of you to assume he was wearing pants
In case you're wondering why this game resembles Rolling Thunder so much, the company Arc System Works had developed both CN:V and the Famicom port of RT. So it's convincing to say both games used the same engine.
The people you fight sound a lot like Mega Man 2 Mecha Dragons when they’re defeated. In a technical sense, it’s obvious why (Capcom’s sound team were involved). But in the game’s setting, it makes no sense, lol. Humans do not sound like robot dragons when in pain.
Streaker tas strikes again

@@X_marksthespot manipulate rng that's something. I hear this thing when people make Doom 2 tas. You must kill Icon of sin without weapons
What I find odd is that this game has been licensed by Nintendo, despite the fact that the main character, Mr. Smith, has to dismantle a drug syndicate in South America, which I thought would offend South American players, while other games with similar content, especially unlicensed games like Cross Fire (a Contra-like game made by Kyugo where the main character has to visit some of the planet's warring countries and "pacify" them), were not. It seemed like Nintendo decided that it was best to license a game made by a renowned company like Capcom, even if said company's game's content were controversial, in order to increase their own revenues.
Those jail cells in level 5 aren't doing much...
