That about covers it. I think that everyone would agree, it is not a stretch to say that your humor is the fabric that binds us together. We hang on your every word. Your words sway us to new heights. Every line taut with anticipation. We each have a stake in your wisdom. We dub thee "Tarpoleon Bonaparte", ruler of funny pants, Empanada of wit and sage of the saucy pork.

I think I learned a lot from this one. One thing I always notice in your gear videos is you emphasize "do it your own way". That is really important because everyone is different and everyone's set up will vary. The only way to see what works for you is to get out and experience some experiments.

Hey Shug I just want to let you know that you have been my favorite Hammocker, backpacker, entertainer to watch on KZread for the past couple years!! I have loved backpacking for many years now, and have been upgrading my gear lately. Because of you I’ve upgraded my tarp to the beautiful Warbonnet Superfly. Thank you for being you, and always enjoy your “Breakfast in the hammock” my friend:) You’re awesome, keep it up Shug!!!

Just want to say Shug, your videos have been instrumental for me gaining the confidence to try hammock camping for the first time. I used a DIY tarp for a week in Colorado and loved the whole hammock experience! I found that I like lots of coverage with the tarp pitched higher, so I think I'll build my next one like your superfly.

Thanks Shug, got my Superfly this summer and I couldn't be happier. I opted for sil poly instead of nylon weathered 2 storms and all I have to say is " All secure in sector 7"

I can just imagine what Shugs neighbors must think... Strange noises, random talking to himself, ukes, drums, ropes strung all over... They probably refer to him as, "The clown that lives next door"... I would imagine they still tolerate his shenanigans as he probably invites them to his bbq's... :)

I can get all my stuff, hammock, and KLR 650 under it and when configured as a bomb shelter, it's completely enclosed. I'll never use a tent again. Greetings from Alaska.

It's about what can I do to help you out. May I assist you?. Because I have got myself together, and I would like to help you. Let's do a little bit more of that. Can you join me on that people?. It's not hard, let's pull it together. I think we can do it..." Man, I loved that. Thank you on your huge contribution to "new" ways on camping. Carl, Shug in the third, and the Maple King, if need be. That's three wholes, in the third, and a third of an third. or in fractions that's 9/3 allowing for multiple personalities each, and 2/3 of a whole third person in case another personality pops out. In the mean time; you can close the doors to contain the smell of meandering: it's enough to make you lollygag. YMMV. Parental discretion is not advised. Or applicable.

You have some really nice tarps there. I just got into hammock camping this year so only have one tarp so far. I bought it pre-sale and saved a few dollars, I paid $34.97 + free S&H. It is a little heavier than your tarps but it works well and seems pretty durable. Here are the specs: Outdoor vitals 'Chief' 6 Sided 75D Polyurethane coated ripstop polyester with taped seams, adjustable tie-outs, aluminum stakes, Catenary cut sides, Loops for trekking pole placement & 75D Poly carry bag it's 11' x 6'6" and weighs 1 lb 7 oz. great video thanks for sharing.

My fav method to create space inside the tarp is to stake a hiking pole inside the tarp angling out pushing on the tarp. Quick and no guylines needed.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge with everyone. Is there a reason you only carry pullout lines for one side of the tarp? I usually use my tarp in porch mode leaving only one side to pullout. Thanks again for all your videos.

Man. You are sure talented. Great informative and highly entertaining all at the same time. Just used my $20 Members Store after losing power for 4 1/2 days here in South eastern Florida 11'. Bug net outside in my pool screen enclosure " missing panels, no structure damage ". I'm 6'3" slept great. What commercial tarp would you bring to Florida? Fly ends I think. Thanks Shug

Shug, my Superfly has a small hole near the apex from hardware rubbing in a storm, do you kindly have any advice on a repair. For example a patch of silnylon attached using silnet? Thank you, Mike

Tnx for the video. Do you run your hammock suspension up through the 'V' or does the hammock suspension hang beside the tarp suspension on each end? That maybe confusing the way I asked should have asked Karl to make a sketch

Usually to the side. Sometimes through the V if it works for that hang.

Shug! Thank you for all the work you put into getting this information out to us! It is more appreciated than you probably even know. I would be interested in a video concerning temperature ratings on quilts and other sleeping gear. For me, it seems like a 40 degree bag does not keep me warm when it is 40 degrees out. I read varying stuff on this and it seems like maybe that rating is a survival rating, not so much a comfort rating. Is this true? Also, how does the rating change when you go from sleeping on the ground to in a hammock? I'm looking to invest in some quality gear for nights that get down to around 25 degrees. Its not really something you can try out and return so I need to try and get it right the first time. Looked for a video on this but couldn't fine it. Thanks!

Good quality gear helps a lot. Also go 10º more than you shooting for. A 20º bag or top quilt is very versitile. kzread.info/head/PLahaAdtfX9ZKzSYSBm3mBYSPGHjdyGqsL kzread.info/dash/bejne/q3qL1ZiOeJqpZ5c.html kzread.info/dash/bejne/d62olcpygMS1oso.html
