Hi DTG, i have had some success predicting timing with tarot using the minor arcana. Pentacles=years, swords=months, wands=weeks, and cups=days only when next to a pentacle. So the 5 of swords would = 5 months, 3 of pentacles would = 3 years, and 4 of wands would = 4 weeks for example. Cups as timing cards would only be counted when it falls next to a pentacle, otherwise it is disregarded. The method is you go back from the last card until you reach the first in the minor arcana, and use that as your timing card. You can also use some of the major cards aswell, Empress= spring, the Sun = summer, the Hermit = winter, the Star = xmas, the Moon = 1 month. This system has been quite successful for me. Give it a try & see how it works for you. Its not fool proof but works more often than not. If the last card was 10 of pentacles, it might just mean a long time rather than 10 years, although i have seen it indicate a long period of stability and success for a few lucky people if the reading supports it. I find wands & swords to be the most reliable for timing, but astrology is in my experience the most accurate system for timing. Hope this helps

Graeme, can you post a picture or video of your method? I'm very new to this but really want to try what you described. I'm just not sure what you mean when you say "go back from the last card until you reach the first in the minor arcana, and use that as your timing card". In what kind of spread? Do you do a specific spread first answering a question about the situation and then apply this timing method to that same spread to determine timing? I'm confused, and really want to try this. Daily Tarot Girl, do you understand what Graeme is saying? Can you do a video to show it?

Hi hlb0111, basically in a celtic cross spread for example, you would look first at the tenth card. If the tenth card was, say the 4 of wands, then you're timing would be about 4 weeks. Lets say the tenth card was the world, the ninth card was page of wands, and the eighth card was 8 of wands, then you're timing would be 2 months, and so on. Another example, you're tenth card is the ace of swords, and the 4 of wands is in the near future position, and the moon card is in the reading, i would give a time frame of 1 month with more certainty. You can use the timing method with any spread, experiment with it and see how it goes. Hope that helps

Tarot definitely can be used to predict time quite accurately using the Golden Dawn's attributions. For instance, with reference to the cards you mentioned. The three of Cups is the second decan of Cancer, Mercury in Cancer, July 2-11. The nine of Pentacles is the second decan of Virgo, Venus in Virgo, September 2-11. The Queen of Swords September 12-October 12. The Queen of Cups June 11-July 11. The ten of Swords is the third decan of Gemini, Sol in Gemini, June 11-20. The five of Cups is the first decan of Scorpio, Mars in Scorpio, October 23- November 1.

I think the cards should be used to gather the large overall picture of what's to happen, but use your higher self or spirit guides to find dates and time frames. The cards can be a catalyst to ignite your contact with the future.

Another great video. I totally agree,tarot are not there to predict future.But instead show ways of improving a situation or looking at present issues in a a different light that are holding up future events. In my experience,normally future events that are highlighted by the tarot and if all requirements are altered or added by the querent,they can normally expect everything to come full circle in about 9months.But also go with the feeling of the spread. However this is only guide,as its method devised by myself. This is why i only to 1 reading per 9months for the same person.Unless if they stated they've made changes,then i'l make a quick 3 card spread.From that i may do an in depth consultation with the celtic cross. The Death card is very important on timing. Without the Death Card,the situation will more than likely take 9+months to resolve,even to the timescale of years. The Death card present,generally means its less than 9months,and possibily weeks.Unless the querent has changes that could implemented straight away. Death card reversed,does make it more to be 9months.Or a lot longer if the querent does not put in place the changes that they can do at present.Reversed the Death card,means the holding up the changes out of fear.But this meaning of the Death card only applies to timing. This method has worked for me,hope it helps.Peace

Makes sense. I am always torn when I see something like the Ace...could it be it'll be quick OR does it mean you're journey is at a beginning so it'll be a while before you traverse to the 10 (end of cycle) for this thing to manifest. I appreciate your insight. :)

hiii.... you know what i discovered ... i just felt like, in one year many things happen good or bad, so i divided taror deck with number of months and it really worked... so can you like try it out just to make shure if it really does work with other readers :)

what if you get a 9 of swords in reversed time frame wise or are reversed cards not allowed?

its like this... for every month i put 6 cards 6 cards for january 6 for february...etc and stop when december ends so its 6 x 12 ... srry, my english is a bit rusty :P

There is a whole system of timing using the minor arcana. Pip cards are assigned to specific decans Ace and court cards are full signs of the zodiac or seasons. The catch is that it doesn't specify which year It's really good for birthdays or other yearly events. The other ways of determining time are also good but intuition is key But like you said most of the time the querent has to do their part for things to happen "on schedule" When I do it for myself I never ask about timing I usually use planetary hours lunar phases retrogrades and other methods when I am concerned about timing. But that's only for magical operations and so on

It gives you a chance for projection and understanding what is really important to you. It’s more like therapy. In reality we see & hear what we want all the time. Our projections make our perceptions.
