Thanks for another awesome video. It takes a man to admit his mistakes. Especially to air them on KZread. I can’t tell you how many easy faults I missed when trying to hurry through a repair because I think I’ve seen it before. It always bites you. Humility is a great trait! Hope you’re doing well, Todd.

I always check all 3 legs on all fets for shorts, & solder bridges after I work on a board before applying power.

Indeed! It is something I always forget to check as it is a rare occurrence to have a non-visible drain/source short @ 180 volts.

Hello, thank you for always replying to my comments In a video, I asked to explain the class D circuit and you sent a link that I looked at. Thank you I want it to teach different parts of a class D circuit on the board. For example, the same device or something similar. Is it possible to tell the different parts and their functions, for example, what do these inductors and capacitors do? Or where and by which component is the triangular waveform produced that is compared with the input signal? Where should we find the gate drive, etc... Of course, it doesn't matter which board it is, my goal is to know the different parts of class D. Thank you very much for taking the time to read my comment

The best way to start learning that is to have a schematic and start at the pre-amp working your way to the output ICs understanding what each component does along the way. Most datasheets will give you an application example so you can learn how the topology works.

Hi, how are you? I'm new to amplifier repair. I have a question, depending on the circuit of a class D amplifier, these may have different GND. I use an oscilloscope that connects via USB to the PC. When I try to see the gate signal, I have strange readings from a side but the other is normal by taking the GND from where GND is supposed to be

Hi and thank you for the support. I don't know when it comes to the USB scope how they reference the probe's ground. My scope ground is always attached to the amplifier ground terminal.

Hi my 8k blew right where you said the resistance was 11.2 on the 15v diode How much do you normally charge for replacement and whatever else you come across

What is the resistance from the gate to source of the output transistors? There are 4 sections, 2- high side, and 2 low side.

@@basshead100 Hello! As to not confuse people my name is Todd :) sorry I missed that earlier. You will want to put the amplifier output section into shutdown by removing the SD solder bridge. This will allow you to see what the pre-amp is doing and make sure you have your square wave signal to both Si8244 ICs from the 319 IC. You are reaching a point where it will be hard to assist through comments.

@@ellensburgamplifier sorry Todd)i jsut observed that when i disconnect my speaker wires protection mode disappers at all and in switching to functioning mode blue light, but for curiosity i have measured voltage coming out from speakers output nozzle it shows 23.4v but to supposed to be 0.0v at volume down regime.

@@basshead100 Oh you have DC offset. Anything up to .05v is acceptable. I would first check the DC offset circuit as sometimes (in lucky situations) a brief output short that doesn't damage the drive will damage the DC offset resistors. Otherwise, I would replace the Si8244 ICs and go from there.
