Btw it’s called Peter’s Principle. Stepping into an arena where you are not competent is not unconfident, it’s humility. Looking at yourself in a realistic light, knowing that you are less competent in the arena. It’s takes courage to step into that arena in the first place. Expressing humility is the best way to avoid your ego getting in the way of learning, which will ultimately lead to competence/confidence

Confidence can overcome many obstacles and shortcomings. Jumping in and taking charge is huge. My parents taught me to stand straight, look adults straight in the eye, access the situation. You will land in uncomfortable situations sometimes, learn how to have a cool head about it. My Mom and Dad were trying to raise leaders. In childhood, scouts, sports, church, neighborhood, school, paper route -expose you to becoming an adult. Woo!

The loop is important. Because if done consistently, it can become self sustaining, with each success building you in to the next challenge.

The consistency hits home today. I've been working out for three months, five days a week, and today's the first day I saw any progress. Stay at it brothers!

I've made a point of correcting people when they tell me I'm talented. Almost nothing I'm now competent with came to me without putting in the practice, so I own where I am skilled because 'talent' unconsciously suggests that I was somehow born with something and never had to work for it.

Great reminder on "doing the hard thing". I was considering stopping my Master's Work since my last class was very tough. Looking back though, it has given me some key and timely tools for my job. It is important to focus and get the project done. Thanks for the reminder.

I believe the reason people have anxiety and are afraid of what others think of them is because they aren't productive people. If you have just built something, chopped a bunch of wood and gone for a run; you will feel good about yourself. And as a result you will think that others will feel highly of you also. If you have nothing to bring to the table, you feel useless and unworthy.

Yeah man supplements are very helpful for me and you have to watch that some things say “made in America” but the companies get the ingredients from other country’s and make it in America so then it’s technically “made in America” but it’s really from Taiwan or places like that a lot of times I’ve found this out from working at a dog food store and discovering some of the “made in America” bullshitters. But thank you for the great information it is very appreciated.
