Tanzania: The Quiet Revolution (Part 2/2)

As nations go, Tanzania is in its infancy. It was born in April 1964 of a union of Tanganyika, a former British colony, and Zanzibar, tiny islands off the East Coast of Africa which were formerly Arab dominated. This program explores many of the problems facing this struggling nation - poverty, sickness, education, and lack of trained manpower. Beyond this, the program focuses on Tanzania's policy of non-alignment in the Cold War and its willing acceptance of foreign aid from both Free World and Communist Bloc countries.

I wish Africa lived through this dream. Our forefathers, specifically Mwalimu Julius Nyerere had a great dream for this continent

Finding each other is crucial as liberated Afrika. Consolidating our achievements and focusing ahead always educating our children where we came from, where we are going, guiding them.......

These pivotal parts of Afrika must be documented in writing, textbooks for curriculum teaching students pioneering work of forefathers. Indians, Chinese, Europeans, whatnot, all those not blacks will ultimately screwed up Afrikan economy transfers monetary funds generated out to their homeland.

I am amazed; Tanzanians then were articulate, with informed world view; more than they are today- even their politi cians! How things changed! Proof that the natives killed education for political gains. It is through most of Africa. What a shame.

It turned out that you can have a one-party democracy....not in Tanzania, Albania, Yugoslavia, the Soviet Union or even China. Cuba did come out better than most...still 2 million Cubans are immigrants!
